Have you opened it yet...c'mon man get to it!!!! For some reason I really want to know whats in that package!!!

I was thinking about trying, but I didnt want to mess up my first good airbrush paint job (any more at least). I'm also not to clear on what I should be using for polishing. I just get the smoothest paint job I can via wet sanding and being as careful as possible, and then throw on some future.

On the interior, I built a sub box in the trunk and covered the floor. Removed the back seat and put in an opening to view the subs through, and a space to mount the NOS tanks on One with the glass in I found some nice exhaust tips in a parts box, and used some solder to make straight pipes I had to move the engine mounts to fit the V12, and I ran the spark plugs complete with spark plug boots cut from some scrap wire insulation. Thanks for looking, and thanks for all that the members here have helped me so much.

This is one of my all time favorite cars. But being me I'd never leave any of my favorite cars (or any of my cars for that matter) factory stock. So, I decided to attempt some custom work. I got a Flat head V12 for the power plant. An Amp, some subs, and of course NOS This is the "Donks" kit from Revell, so It has different suspensions, I'm using the stock in front and raised in the back, both with the larger wheels Cut out some T-tops and cut opened the trunk Made a custom cowl for the hood I'm not sure how many picture will fit in one post, so I'll continue it in the next.

I didn't take to many pictures, since I didn't do anything to interesting. This is my first time doing the entire body with the airbrush, overall I think It came out pretty good, the color is GM's Atomic orange metallic from Scale finishes. I also cut the carbon fiber inserts on the side from scratch. You may be able to see a thumb print at the bottom of the door panel, somehow I got superglue on my thumb during final assembly, but I wasn't gonna start over. Thanks for looking!

A couple days ago, I went by my dads house looking for a 1/8th scale (I think) Camaro model that I started a long time ago and never finished. I didn't find it, but I did find some a lot of other stuff. First off, a buttload of parts, and semi complete builds (not cause I didnt finish them, because theyve been in the basement for 15 years). I know its a crappy picture, but if you see something you want send me an email, Im sure I can probably part with it, since now I have a huge parts box Next a couple of unfinished kits. A kit that my uncle bought before he died and never started, the box is crunched, but the kit looks to be fine. Lastly, 2 kits that my Dad has had for a long time, and he now wants me to build. Both of cars he used to own, so Im going to build them like his 1:1's and give them back. Ive been wanting to do an X-19 for a long time. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk265/slant6225/What%20did%20you%20get%20today%2010-30/IMG_6400.jpg[/img

Thats great, thanks for posting it! I never thought to use just the air, to help dry the paint. And the lens cleaner bottles are a great idea.

I took auto shop in high school, so I know the basics, and do most of my own repairs. I can also diagnose most problems, even if I cant fix em. I am an MECP certified installer, and the shop manager at my store.

i have already lost interest in this build. If you want, you could send it to me and Ill finish it up for you. Looks good so far, Im a huge VW fan, Ill be watching.

Don't feel bad about it not coming out how you wanted it, none of mine ever do either. I just consider my mistakes a lesson learned, and try not to make the same ones on the next one. Unfortunately, there are always new mistakes to make on the next one. As long as your having fun though, who cares.

The diameter was definitely to large, is that possibly the problem, because I used Pro Weld and I still couldn't get it to hold together right. Guess Ill have to get over to the hobby shop sometime soon.

Suggestion about works in progress postings
slant6 replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I dont know about the rest of you guys, but, when I find an interesting topic, WIP or otherwise, I just click the watch topic button at the top of the screen. Who cares how long it takes to finish, Ill get an email when any new posts are made. Works for me. I myself have 2 WIP threads that have been stalled for quite a while...it happens. -
Im sure this is a long shot, but Ive looked around and cant find anything. Does anyone make an early Chevy Trailblazer kit?
-
THANK YOU, ILL CHECK THAT OUT!

Yahoo Concept Car Sightings

I saw that this morning while browsing the news. I love the Audi's and the Lambo was already my desktop background. -
This might be on here somewhere, if so I missed it, but can anyone show/tell me how to build a custom roll cage? Ive tried it before using the left over parts tree, but, with unfavorable results. I just couldn't get the pieces to stay together.

This is one of those cars that looks like it would be fun drive...but I wouldn't want anyone to see me driving it.

I GOT ONE RIGHT!!!! Finally.

That should do it. Thanks for all the help! Ill experiment a little, then give it a shot. Oh, excellent looking Impala BTW!

I saw this kit the other day and wanted so bad to buy it, but they wanted $60 for it. Ill be watching this one.

Im looking for some tips on using pearl paints. It'll be from the rattle can for the first attempt. I think most important is what base coat do I need to use. Start to finish instructions would be great!

You beat me to it! Im working on the same car. Looks great in black! I alwasy have such a hard time getting a nice finish with black that I stay away from it. Ive been taking pictures, but have been to lazy to post lately.

Your Very First Real Car
slant6 replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I cant find any pictures of my actual first car. Ill post em if I find em. But it was one of these. A 1971 Plymouth Valiant Scamp with a slant 6 cylinder 225 c.i. engine (sound familiar?). I bought it from my uncle for $200. When I got it, it was a horrible forest/baby vomit green, so I painted it blue, then purple with a black hood and trunk and hand painted murals on both. I loved that car, I learned how to get up on two wheels in that car, and you could bash it into almost anything (almost anything, as my girlfriend at the time found out when she destroyed it) without worrying about messin it up to bad.
