  1. Im working on the same kit for the Community Muscle car build thread. I hope mine comes out looking half as good as yours.
  2. OK, I checked out the tutorial and tried over and over again. First problem, I cant get a big enough piece off of the sheet without it ripping. The sheet I have is sort of...."cracked" should the sheet be smooth, did I get a bad sheet? Second, even when I do get a piece big enough off, say for the small spots, even using a brand new razor blade, I keep ripping it, especially around the corners. Any more help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Finally got some work done worth posting. Not my best paint job, but it is my first 2 tone. C&C welcome as always. http://s282.photobucket.com/albums/kk265/slant6225/1970%20Dodge%20Challenger/
  4. Im not sure exactly how fast it was. In an 1985 Camaro, I had the speedometer roll back around to about 15 and it only went to 85. Im not sure if it was accurate having gone back around to the start of the dial, but if ficure at least 130 or so if it isnt. I was a little scary, as i was only 18 and didnt have the $$$ to take care of the car very well.
  5. I always try flipping the can over and spraying like the directions say (yeah, I read em one time). It always seems that it only unclogs it for a very short period of time. However, I thought of it last night while struggling with a clogged can and jsut turned it upside down while painting, it worked, but it was very difficult to aim the spray.

  7. Camaro is one of my all time favorite cars, and yours is amazing.
  8. Thats a good idea, I got extra brush cleaner. I was thinkin, of dropin the "nozzle" in the brake fluid tha I have some old parts soaking in right now, you think that'll work?
  9. I appreciate the quick replys (all will come in handy), but, Im looking for a "pictorial", I know Ive seen it. On the other hand I really do appreciate any help, so keep it comin'.
  10. I am talking about the "button" they always seem to clog up real quick if you dont use the whole can real quick. That seems like alot of work though. I never thought of saving the old ones. Wont the paint from the last color come through in the new color though?
  11. Ive got a few questions, so Ill stick em all in one post. 1. Im doing a 2 tone paint job, yellow and black. Should I do all my sanding and smoothing and what not before the second color or is there should I spray both colors and do it all at once? This is my first 2 tone paint job so any help would be greatly appreciated. 2. How do I best unclog the nozzle on a rattle can? Ive got a couple that are cloged but I know theres still paint in there. 3. Ive seen a bare metal foil tutorial, I thought it was on here. Can someone point me in the right direction? Im about to try that for the first time too. Thanks in advance Will
  12. Thanks for the help guys. I went to Lowes the other day and picked up a few different adhesives to experiment with. I ended up using Locktite 2 part epoxy and it worked fantastic, although it took longer to dry than was promised in the instructions.
  13. Thanks guys. I usually dont have a problem, I use super glue on P/E parts all the time. This time Ive made my own "hinges" for the first and the ###### things just wont stay put. What kind of epoxy are you talking about?
  14. What do I use to glue metal to plastic? Super glue aint workin!!!
  15. So finally the computer and the camera are working right. I havent done to much yet, but Ive got till June, so I think Im good. Im going to put all my pictures in an album on photobucket and just post the link in here. Hope it works. http://s282.photobucket.com/albums/kk265/slant6225/1970%20Dodge%20Challenger/ Lemme know if it doesnt work (never tried it this way before), and Ill just scrap the while idea.
  16. the due date is june 1 2010 so you should have plenty of time to get something going (i had it in the first post but i lost some stuff in the change from forum styles after i edited it) let me know what you will be building and i'll ad you to the list
  17. Love it! I used drive a Dodge Omni with that same engine though.
  18. Is there still time to join this build? My mind tends to drift when I read, so I didnt find an end date (didnt check all 15 pages yet), but It looks like most of you are pretty far along and I havent even started.
  19. Amazing! I love it! Hope you dont mind if I use those pictures in my screen saver. Ive been watching this from your first post and I cant imagine be able to do something like that from scratch.
  20. So the Enzo is done, on to a new project. Is it just me, or do guys find Lindburg kits disappointing too? All of the lines for the doors and such were raised, so I had to take care of that. I decided to make some changes too. I found some pieces from the scrap box, I think they might have been exhaust tips from something. I mounted them in the fenders for taillights and filled in the holes for the originals. I also though It would look good with really full fenders, filled them in too. My girlfriend doesn't like any of it, but I do, so its gonna happen. This is the fist time Ive done any major body modification, so any tips would be very welcome. Id like to use a set of wheels left over from a VW Golf GTI, but they are really wide, so Im not sure how to make them fit. Just something to think about, for you guys that might have some ideas.
  21. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT??? I own a Corrado, and I've been looking for this model since I though about buying it. If you put it all back in the box Ill buy yours!

Thank you all for the kind words. It really makes me look forward to my next project, I want to make a Tamiya McLaren SLR look like this. And I will need all of your help for it. So thanks in advance, even though, I havent even bought the kit yet. There will be many questions.

I didnt post alot of pics in the under glass section, but I figure now that its done, whats the point of adding anymore to it. So here are the finished pics. Thanks to everyone who gave me tips and encouragement. I appreciate it.
  24. Looks great. I like it with the top down. I did a hardtop bug a while ago and I wanna do another one with the top down. Great work.
  25. Ive never thought of myself as a "high detail guy". But I really appreciate being included in that category. I could not even do what I do without tips from the real "high detail guys" on this forum. Thanks though, it's a little flattering.
