  1. Sorry to hear of your loss...... Pets are (a lot of the time) easier to be close with than a lot of people. Just remember all the good times!!!! DJ
  2. MARIO Any updates? You doing okay? Let us know when you can...... DJ
  3. OH WOW!!!! Spent two hours this afternoon going thru all 32 pages, just looking at pictures of all the cuties...... GREAT to see how many people we have here that know "what's most important"!!!!! I used to have a Tee-shirt that read "Little animals are EASY to love, people= not so much!!!!" Lotta truth in that!!!! THANKS to everyone for sharing your pictures & stories. DJ
  4. UPDATE: My MIA showed up today!!!!! The local postal workers have been GREAT folks to deal with, NOT their fault for my misfortunes, but have been VERY helpful in trying to help resolve the problem.?? to them!!!! Wonder if these would now be considered "used parts", cause now they have a hundred thousand miles on them!!!!!!?? DJ
  5. RON has added some more new items, among which are the old Mr. Gasket "foot shaped" gas pedal/dimmer switch combo, AND the old "cool cans" like Moroso {and others) sold.... Give a look!!!! DJ
  6. WOW!!!! This is really one VERY COOL project, PAUL!!!! A close friend back in Longview scored an Aussie built Shelby replica of the Daytona several years back, came roaring around the corner up in front of the house, had said he had a lead on one, and had finally secured it. It now lives in a "man cave" off of McCann Road. Will have to see if I can bootleg a picture or two of your build to Mark. Again, great job and good to hear from you. DJ
  7. my "update": Met our local postmaster during today's visit, absolutely ONE GREAT GUY, H-O-W-E-V-E-R, that STILL did NOT get my package into my possession,,,,,,, After some time (on his part) he did come back to inform me that it showed my package was scanned at a post office in Louisville (100 miles away) and, theoretically, SHOULD show up tomorrow...... Hoping for the "best"....... In defense of USPS: I did have 6 different things that I shipped to other people during the time of this "lost" shipment, that all got to where they were supposed to go. DJ
  8. Very Impressive!!!!! Sure one batch of rubber under there!!!!!?? DJ
  9. Thoughts and Prayers with you for a quick and complete recovery DJ
  10. THANKS BILL, guess this whole thing has sorta "hit a sore spot"...... Started out only wanting to know what experiences others had with some of the "competitors" of the USPS because we (the wife and I) have had legitimate problems with our local p/o, and having moved from a LARGE town in Texas, to a small (4500 pop) town here in Kentucky, options are not the same...... (and YES, I do love it here in Kentucky, just having to "adjust" to small town life again, as I grew us in a small mountain community.} THANKS AGAIN DJ
  11. When I first "got back into the hobby", the wife and I spent hours wondering around in H/Lobby looking thru the different departments for things to "use" on the little cars..... Amazing how you can make realistic hoses out of 'rubber tubing' from the Jewelry dept., brake lines/ fuel lines, etc. from stuff in the floral dept. you took us "back in time" ?
  12. Will look for them, I prefer lacquers because of their drying times (as you pointed out) THANKS JAY
  13. Have used the X19 Smoke extensively since I was made aware that it existed to help detail stuff like grilles, carbs, m/c's, etc., it also "trims" stuff like rims to give them more "depth" and detail. Will look for the green, gotta be something a person can do with that!!! THANKS PETER
  14. Why was this moved? I DID NOT step across any political lines..... Is it now "politically incorrect" to ask a question about an alternative to some government agency? DJ
  15. Thank you STEVE, I learned something new today, did not notice/know the difference in status, now I will know to look for the difference........ Thank you again DJ
  16. NOT trying to argue Greg, I have relatives that have retired from the Postal Service, and one of my wife's life-long best friends is a retired Post Master {one of the very finest people I have ever known), I only asked if others had used some other means of shipping with a degree of success. In just the past few weeks, we have had one parcel "misplaced" for almost SIX weeks, then my wife sent an envelope to a relative (emergency) overnight for $30 to mail, that took THREE days to get there (and now waiting for 30 days for the refund........ NOT trying to alienate everyone who ever worked for Post Office, had family/friends who worked for them. Simply asked for any (if they exist) alternatives. Thanks in advance for any help. DJ
  17. What alternative have you used with BETTER service/results than our infamous USPS? I have a parcel (resin parts order, model car parts) that arrived in the local Post Office at 6:57am this morning, FOUR trips down there, and now they tell me it will be TOMORROW morning before I get my package........ And they "wonder WHY" they are losing money....... Anyhow, who do you use and how has the service been? DJ PS: And for the record, I DID remain calm, civil and respectful to the workers....... PSS: USPS Official Website is where the information on the arrival time comes from
  18. THANKS for posting the link, really happy with his service and products
  19. A friend told me how he had been replicating "anodized" parts, tried it, and was VERY pleased, so thought that I'd pass it along to those who build models with anodized parts. TAMIYA has three different "clear" colors to use over either chrome parts or "chrome painted" parts: X23 is the CLEAR BLUE, X24 is the CLEAR YELLOW, and X27 is the CLEAR RED. A little "trial" usage, and your stuff will come out great!!!! Give it a try!!! DJ
  20. Just got in the latest order from RON COON RESINS, with a bunch of his newest additions..... If you haven't checked him out recently, have a quick look, he has added so many new items. Not just for roundy-rounders, but stuff like ladder bars, mounting brackets & heim joints to build your own 4-links, steering, etc., different wheels (including both deep & shallow GM Rally wheels), list goes on and on!!!! (and NO, I'm not an advertisement for RON, just a very satisfied customer that will share a GREAT experience when one happens). Check 'em out DJ
  21. DITTO!!!!! Killed one myself as a youngster......?? Great job with such an old kit, DJ
  22. KEN Well, that is definately COLORFUL & DIFFERENT!!!!!!!! First time I've ever seen one of those...... As usual, you did a very sanitary job on the build, TWO THUMBS UP!!!!!! DJ
  23. JOHNNY Sending PM DJ
  24. DITTO DJ
