  1. Nice build
  2. Nice build. You find every time you build one you always think, "I could've done better"?
  3. Sure would. This was built over 20 years ago and left for comparison when I start new ones. I believe I have an unbuilt 69 Shelby. Yup, #71 is a Shelby mustang. Will try to do some good detailing on it. Learning from ya'll on this site on how to do good detailing.
  4. Well, #6, a 1969 Shelby Mustang, is cleaned and put up on the shelf. Once again it was built in the 80s or 90s so detail not great ,but a fun build. Sport mirrors on the doors have inserts to look like actual glass.
  5. These kits are ones I built back in the 80s and 90s. Decided to start building again. These were box stock and not a lot of detail. About 50 of them . Some need some repairs, some need to go to bone yard. A lot of NASCAR models back then. Was going to re-build them but was told by members of the site it might be best to leave them the way they were built and use as a comparison. So once I get through these I can start on some new ones. Can't tell you much on the models. Long time again. I'm up to #6. I have a total number of 135, built, partial built, and new. Will built them in order. I put them in this thread by number as I repair/ clean them and put them back in their cases. Putting a shelf all the way around my office/mancave so I can see them as I finish them. (See under "General"/ "Shelf" I'm amazed at the work the members of this site put in their builds and hope to be half as good one day. Thanks Terry
  6. Thanks to member, Paul Gardner, my #1, 1968 Corvette is complete. He sent me the driver's door mirror. And #2, 1958 Impala is also complete. He sent me the front fender chrome fins I was missing. Thanks Paul. Owe you one!
  7. Well, finished the first shelf for my room. A couple of things I'll do different in the future, but looks alright. Now I can enjoy what I build
  8. Got the regular looking glasses at CVS Pharmacy. They're the most powerful they had at 3.25x for 10 dollars. Great for minor magnifying. The other ones I got on Ebay. (Paydays from Walmart)
  9. Amazing job! Need to come work on my "Giant Glue Bomb" , 1972 Ranchero Squire. See if you can put that talent to work on it. I'll let you, lol!
  10. Wow! Amazing work. Really a talent!
  11. Say hello to "Dory"! This is the picture of her on the internet at "Desert Classics" in Idaho. Had her shipped down here
  12. You can see I haven't started on the garage yet and the year is still all dirt.. The bug hit again. This time , and my last, 1972 Ranchero Squire. It will be posted in "What do you drive" thread as I work on it as "Giant Glue Bomb". Her name is "Dory" because of the fish mouth grill they put in the '72 Torinos and Rancheros. She's in a thread called "Stable" under "doree". in a site called "Ranchero.us"
  13. The garage is a detached 24x30 metal I bought in 2000. I work as an assistant superintendent for a national home builder. I've been working on this garage for 17 years. It's insulated and dry walled. Most of the cabinets were damaged and were going to be thrown out so I grabbed them. The tool boxes are $260.00 each , I bought one at a time as I could afford them. I was given a water heater. The wife wanted the utility sink out of the house , so I put it in the garage. The refrigerator I got in a trade. The TV I bought with a bonus check. It has central heat and air, which is another thing I picked up off the job. I run cable out to it when it was built. 99% of the work I did myself. It's a WIP. I like building real street cars and wanted a good place to work on them. Got tired of the "shade Tree" thiing. Getting old , hard to turn wrenches anymore. Didn't think I'd build anymore after my last one, a 1983 Ford F-150. .302 punched .060 over. 11 to 1 flat tops, Crane "Blue Flame" 3/4 cam, etc.etc. Pictures below
  14. Thank You. This should keep them from being knocked off the shelf. I'll Be able to enjoy my builds while in my room. I'll add shelves as I need them. Once I get all the way round the room, I don't know what I'll do.
  15. Ok, Stain on shelf is finished. Next is the clear coat, then hang the shelf in the mancave/office, BUT, I will be out of town for most of the month, so I'll have to finish it when I get back. Ready to get back to repairing my finished models and starting on new ones!
