He wrote an article in this issue with some tips on detailing the kit. -
I built this from the Revell kit. I used Tim Kolankiewicz's stockings tip for the pop up tent, orange flocking for the carpet and a soft spare cover from my parts box. This is a fun kit that goes together well and has a lot of detail. The opening side door even conveniently hides a run in the paint.

Thanks. It's Rustoleum light terquois.

I built this from the Fujimi kit. I lowered the suspension and added some negative camber. The wheels and tires are from Eternity Hobby Supply. Everything else came in the box. I'm really happy with how it came out and now I kinda want a Prius.

That's a gorgeous red head!

Thanks. I haven't given it to him yet. I finished just in time to hop a plane tonight to where I used to live for a wedding. I'll be giving it to home tomorrow.

My buddy Charlie treated himself to a 2021 Scat Pack Charger for Christmas 2020 and immediately ask me to build him a replica. I was excited when AMT announced the 2021 R/T so I could make Charlie his replica. I made what changes I could to make the kit look more like a Scat Pack including: leaving off the engine cover and filling in the holes in the intake, painting the spoiler flat black instead of body color and adding some 392 Hemi badges. The only modification I couldn't make that I wish I could have was the the grill. With my luck, I'm sure it won't be long before AMT announces a Scat Pack version of this kit.

Here are a couple of mine.

I built this from the Fujimi kit with Aoshima wheels and tires. I lowered the suspension a little, everything thing else came in the box. I was surprised to find out that there was a kit of a second generation Skyline. It was a good kit and went together well.

This is my replica of the R33 Skyline from The Fast And The Furious. I built it from the Tamiya kit with the transkit from Ukrainian Scale Cars Production. The transkit came with the wheels/tires and decals and everything was outstanding quality. The only modifications I had to make to the kit was to notch the front bumper. I scratch built the roll cage out of solder and added a muffler from my parts box. The movie made this car famous and after the movie it became infamous. If you don't know the story of this car you should look it up, it's very interesting.

She's all done. Here's the under glass post.

I built this from a Fujimi kit. I made some modifications to the suspension and wheels to get it to sit how I wanted it. The exhaust tips are aluminum tubes, everything else came in the box. Here's the WIP thread if you want to check it out.

Thanks. It's Rustoleum Hunter green. -
She's out of paint. I got the fender flares painted and most of the decals on, she just needs chrome and final assembly.

I agree, the X pattern was kinda lazy on their part. It's one of those things that's not really noticeable, but once you see it, you can't un-see it.
-
Thanks! When my sister picked this one up they also had one of the new ones (the blue one) so they grabbed it too. I just need the other 2 and I'll have the whole set.
-
Thanks. It's a Fujimi kit. Yes the headlights are chrome with separate clear lenses.

I built this from the Fujimi kit that I didn't know existed until my sister and brother in law found it at a thrift shop. The kit didn't come with a license plate and the rear of the car is never shown in the movie, so I grabbed a California plate from my parts box. Everything else came in the kit.

I got the carbon fiber decal on the hood. It gave the setting solution a run for its money, but it turned out okay. The decal wasn't quite wide enough, I'm hoping it won't be too noticeable once it's done. I'm going to let it set up over night then wash it and see how it reacts to a light clear coat.

We finally got some decent weather. Here's a sneak peek at the paint color.

I'm calling this one an Escalade EST. I picked this one up on eBay as a failed project. The truck conversion had already been done. It had already been painted twice when I got it. I stripped the paint and redid the body work. The chrome and clear pieces were trashed or non existent, luckily what I wasn't able to save, I had in my parts box. There were no wheels, tires or suspension, so I grabbed some wheels and tires from my parts box and glued them right to the wheel wells and I used some huge brakes to hide that there's nothing behind the wheels. I used a tail gate from an EXT. The roll pan came with the project, but it looks like it's from the Revell Waverider kit. The exhaust tips are made from styrene tubes and chromed with a Molotow pen.

I built this box stock from the most recent issue. It was a pretty easy kit with low parts count. The only problem I had was I'm just not used to building anything that big. And here's a mock up with a load of cars and the cab I'm working on for it.

I just finished this from the Polar Lights kit.The weather here hasn't been warm enough to paint since October and it doesn't look like it's going to be for a few more weeks. I was feeling bummed because I haven't been able to finish a kit then I remembered I had this kit in my stash and it didn't need painting because it was plated. I built it box stock with only some detail painting. There were a lot of details I could have added/fixed/improved, but I didn't want to go down that rabbit hole. Now I have this one and the Mark I, I'll just need to get my hands on the Mark II & IV and I'll have the whole set.

I got the interior done. I thought it was odd that the side panels had this pleated detail, but nothing else, no arm rests, no window cranks, not even a door seam. I used some brown paint to simulate the wood trim and installed the seats, shifter and e brake. The kit came with gauge decals, they are nice but I had a harder time putting them in than I thought I would. All I have left to do is paint but we're getting 6" to 10" of snow in the next couple days, so I probably won't be able to post another update for a while.

I colored some of the lights with appropriate colored sharpies. I painted the calipers and springs red for a splash of color, even though they mostly can't be seen I painted some of the molded in details and added the exhaust and suspension finishing the chassis. More next time.
