I had the idea to paint this Cadillac Tiffany blue and a friend suggested that I paint the trim pearl white to look like the ribbon on the box. This started out as the Donks kit with the diamond tuck interior. I had an extra chrome front suspension from the lowrider version and I used a rear axle from my parts box. I added a little positive camber to the front wheels. The wheels and tires are from Pegesus. I keep hoping that Revell will put the diamond tuck interior back in with every re-release, hopefully one of these days they will.

#3 JACCS Accord For this year's theme I thought the JACCS Accord would be perfect. It's a street car converted to a race car, so it already had everything to make it street legal-ish. The JACCS Accord was built for the JTCC (Japanese Touring Car Championship). The engine was tuned to around 280hp and mated to a 6 speed transmission, between that and the shedding of a bunch of unnecessary weight, this car should be very comfortable running 150mph+ all day. The modifications I made for the cannonball run include: Cutting down the roll cage to make it less noticeable from the outside. Adding a passenger seat. Adding countermeasures (radar detector, CB, laptop and GPS) Added fuel cells to the back seat area and trunk. Remove rear spoiler. Silver paint job. I did the interior in all black so it would be hard to tell what's in there from a distance. I also painted the skirts flat black so it wouldn't look so low. With all these modifications it just looks like a lowered street car. With the added fuel capacity I should only have to stop once for fuel. I also figured nobody will be looking at a silver Accord, so I should be able to slip by unnoticed.

I built this from the Hasegawa kit. I was surprised at the lack of detail, especially considering how much these kits are going for. There were spots for pedals and a hand brake, but none were included so I grabbed some from another kit that I wouldn't be using. I cut the center out and moved the back forward to make it a triple cab. I lowered the suspension a few scale inches and used larger diameter 3d printed wheels with the kit hubcaps.

I built this one a while back but never posted it here. I combined 2 cabs to make a crew cab and molded the stepside fenders to the Cameo bed and joined the 2 frames to get the length I needed. The grill/bumper is from a '57 Cadillac. The hood scoops are from a '93 Firebird. The rear end/tailgate is from a '55 Nomad. The rear bumper is from a '58 Impala. The front suspension is from a '69 Corvette. The wheels and front tires are from a '37 Ford. The interior is from an Escalade. This build was especially fun for me because I used all kit parts, nothing aftermarket.

Thanks. The wheels are legal and they're actually pretty conservative compared to some. Google "slab car" and check out some of the pictures.

Thanks. Yeah, I think it does. -
Like many of my builds, this one started with a set of wheels. I saw the swangers online and I had to have a set. I didn't realize they were so big and the only kit I could imagine they'd fit on was the Uptown Cadillac STS-V. They're still pretty big, but I got the look I was after. I lowered it even more and made a custom plate, and because this kit was already set up to make a great slab, everything else came in the box.

Thanks. I built this from the full detail version of the kit. -
Nice Caddy! Love the color.

I built this from the Testors kit, but instead of using the small kit decals I wanted to do the original paint job. I painted the truck black, then masked off the black stripes, painted the whole thing white, then masked off the white stripes, then painted the whole thing red, then unmasked all the stripes and cleared the whole thing. Other than the paint job, it's box stock.

I'm really not sure where he got it. The only place I know that used to make them was Modelhaus.

I've seen plenty of builds with the inner fenders, so I know it can be done. They have a lot of different angles and curves, so it's hard to know where to trim. Hopefully you have more patients than I do.

Thanks. The only trouble I had building it was with the inner fenders, I just couldn't get them to cooperate, so I just left them out. Other than that it went together well.

I built this from the AMT kit. I lowered it over eBay wheels and Pegesus tires. A friend gave me the swamp cooler. The plate and side mirror came from my parts box. I made some exhaust tips from plastic tubing. Everything else came with the kit. I wanted to add a visor, but I don't have one that fits right, I'll add one later if I find one.

I actually moved to Utah recently, I guess I should update my profile. I used to live about 10 minutes from where they held the HAMS show and I went every year.

I got this kit from a friend. It had previously been built. The body had been stripped and the chassis was still (poorly) assembled. The hood had been broken and expertly repaired. One of the A pillars had been broken, repaired, and broken again. The front bumper is a Modelhaus repop. It was missing the front and rear valence, engine, steering wheel and core support. The chassis was in such bad shape that I decided I'd lower it to hide it and because the engine was missing anyway, I glued the hood shut. I used a spare steering wheel and core support from a '70 Impala. The rear valence is the custom rear valence from a '70 Impala and I got a resin copy of the front valence from Page Resin. The wheels and tires are from Pegesus.

I started this kit about 5 years ago and recently decided I needed to finish it. It's box stock with some transparent red and blue details. I had a little trouble fitting the body over the chassis, but other than that, it went together well. This one completes my collection of big screen Batmobiles (until someone makes a kit of the Pattinson Batmobile).

Nice job! I built one a few years back with a lot of similar modifications. I'm looming forward to seeing yours done.

I found this kit for $11 so I figured I'd go ahead and build it. The stripe decals weren't great so I ended up stripping it, painting it red, taping off the stripes then painting it black. Other than that, it went together well.
