  1. Looks good. Those fairing supports are no fun to mount irl either, to many things you have to do at once if you dont have the right tools for it... Its still a pain if you have the right tools but not enough people helping you... Looks like Italeri got the angle wrong where the windshield meets the roof, they dont have that indent in the roof where the sunvisor is supposed to be. Its all a smooth line from the bottom of the windshield to the top of the roof. Also not sure that they got the correct engine in it, the one we had at automotive school was a 93 and it did not have that. Never seen one irl, all that i have worked on had the exhaust manifold + turbo on the passengerside and the aircleaner mounted behind the engine. Those multipiece cabs can be a pain sometimes but i like building them instead of the solid cabs that can be warped in every possible direction and you have to put in many hours to fix that.
  2. Got bored a few days ago and decided to start building the Kenworth W925 from AMT. This is how far i have come for now. Btw do anyone have a pic of how the front engine support is supposed to be? The AMT instructions are really useless on some things, and that is just one of them... Also learned that if i ever build one more of them i am going to add the sleeper supports before the fueltanks... Engine: Frame:
  3. The 6 axle heavy trailers (gravel trailer, flatbed trailer and tank trailer) that Revell had would be nice to have reissued again There is a 6axle flatbed on eBay now and its £350 ($450).. There is also the 6axle heavy gravel trailer where the bidding starts at $199 Last time i saw the heavy tank trailer it was also at around $400.. Also any of their trucks with 3 driveaxles like the Peterbilt alaskan hauler, Peterbilt canadian hauler and Kenworth heavy hauler, Kenworth oriental express The alaskan hauler and canadian hauler are between $170-$250 on ebay now..
  4. Can you add a pic of the parts? Maybe a pic of what the manual also tells you to do? Have not built the kit, but have worked on 1/1 Scanias (and Man,Volvo,Daf,Iveco,Mercedes) for about 7 years. Edit: Found this, its the same you are building only different decals but there are 4 pic,s showing those wheelblockers and where they go. http://i-am-modelist.com/2013/01/29/scania-r730-the-griffin/
  5. Found 2 trucks that am not sure what i am going to with them. This Scania: And this Ford: Anyone knows what engine that is in this kit or is it the usual cummins that are in almost every us truck kit?
  6. They probably could drive it to the destination by itself BUT there are both weight and axleload limitations for most roads. By driving it on the road they could easily destroy the surface and any pipes, wires that are under it. Those limits are also the reason why heavy haul trailers have so many tires, that is to spread out the weight more over the surface and reducing the axleload.
  7. Today was one of those days when i just should have stayed in the bed all day Was out walking in the woods, slipped on a loose rock and fell in to a swampy area next to the path i was walking on.. Later was talking to a friend of mine with the front passengerdoor open on my jeep and had my right hand on b-pillar. Then a stong windgust comes and slams the door on to my hand, my friend though it was hilarious, me not so much.. Then i decided that i should probably do atleast one adult thing today by hanging up a framed picture on the wall and ended up hitting the thumb of my left hand that i was using to hold the nail i was going to use with the hammer...
  8. The first one can be from -73-87. I am not sure now but i think the round lights was standard on those from the 70's Mine from -82 have the dual square headlights on it Revell as it as a gmc with a snowplow and a wrecker version of it with those round headlights
  9. I wish i could get a dog, but living alone and working 10hrs mon-fri so i dont have time for one. It worked when i was watching one of my parents dog a few weeks ago but he is 10years old so he did mostly sleep when i was not home. I had time to go home during my lunchbreak at work to let him out for a few minutes before i had to drive back. But doing the same with a puppy will not work at all.
  10. Thanks. It might look a little odd with the euro trailer behind it but i think that 2 rare kit,s have to go together.
  11. Thanks. I made the last on it tonight and those pic,s are in the under glass section.
  12. Did the last on my Mack tonight so now its done.
  13. Glad you are ok. I found out i almost was in the same situation as you but with diabetes and high bloodpressure. (Only found out thanks to that we are requred to have physical exams every 24months at work) Anyways i found out that my bloodpressure was way to high for a 26year old at the time and i was in the riskzone for diabetes. Managed to lower my bloodpressure by changing job, now i am not angry and stressed every day anymore and my bloodpressure is normal again. Was in a bad mood/angry so often at my my old work that the coworkers used to tell me i had a very even temper, always angry. For the diabetes i started to exercise more then i used to, never realy did anything before, got home made something that was quick to cook and eat then watched tv because i was to tired to care after 12hour days. Now with the new job there are so much walking done each day (my record distance at work is for now "only" 12km,s.. normal day is around 5-7km,s) I usually take a walk in the woods around my house during the weekends. Stopped completly with any junkfood and sodas. If i feel like having a soda i normaly takes the sugarfree version of it and after doing that for a while i cant stand the ones with sugar in them, they are to sweet. As a result of that i have lost 44lbs and are still loosing a little every day and are actually going to the doctor in a few weeks to check if i have managed to get to the normal zone or are still in the riskzone. Since loosing that much i feel like i have much more energy to do things so its easier to just keep going. I also dont feel so lazy anymore. Like if i am in my town and realize that the store that has the thing i need is across the town, i walk there insted of taking the car, i would never have done that a few month ago.
  14. Finally got the parts i have been waiting for. Its hard to see but i added 2 antennas to the bullbar and 1 antenna on each mirrorarm + the one included in the kit so there are 5 of them on the truck. Also testfitted the new tires and wheels.
  15. I see no pic,s only the gauge thing that photobucket have to say it have been disabled
  16. This is my dd Jeep grand cherokee -93 lifted 4" with 33" tires and 5.2 v8 Then this is also my dd sometimes. Jeep Cherokee -89 lifted 3" with 31" tires, 4.0 I6 Then i also have this, Chevrolet silverado K2500 -94 w 6.5td v8 and lifted 6" My brothers old car hiding behind it: And lastly this: Chevrolet silverado C20 -82 with the heavy duty version of the 6.2 v8 (ie no emission or EGR stuff, bigger valves in the heads, engineoil cooler and a deeper oilpan, this requres 12qts during an oilchange..) This needs alot of work due to rust, so i barely drive it anymore. I just keep it because of the engine, the hd verison is rare over here.
  17. Could be a wrap, but since the owner takes this to different truckshows where custom paintjobs are part of the score they get i think it is real. There are a few showtrucks used daily over here that all have real paint and not wrap, ( i know the owner of one) I can post a pic of that one if anyone wants to see it But if i were a truckdriver i would never get behind the wheel of one, imagine being the first to accidently scratch the paint on it
  18. I overtook this one on my way home from work today. I think i know what the owners favorite movie is.
  19. Looks good. Dont forget to adjust the intake, exhaust and possible evb valves on the yearly s12 service Intake is 0.5mm and exhaust is 0.8mm, if it is modern enough to have evb they are set to 0.6mm. Slightly offtopick, if it had an euro 4&5 engine it it they needed to have their valves adjusted at every oilchange... Euro 6 needs it done once every 2 year. On that service you have 13 hours to go through everything between the numberplates on the truck, sometime those to if they are about to fall off... How i know this, i was a MAN truck mechanic for almost 7 years.
  20. Ordered some aftermarket parts for it, badges, wheels, tires, mudflaps and some other stuff. Untill they arrive this is how far i can go.
  21. Thanks for your reply. Found out that i dont have to scratchbuild anything as auslowe are about to release a areodyne kw (for the AMT kit) that have the dual aircleaners, they are also going to sell them seperatly so i think i am going to go with them to save some time. From the looks of their kw uses the 12v71
  22. Engineroom is done and the aircleaners are done. Did a few other small things to it this evening, testfitted the stoneguard, mounted the bugshield and glued in the headlightlenses. Now i only have the mudguards, indicators and roof ac left and then it is done.
  23. Thanks, yes i found pictures of them the day after, guess my google skills were off when i posted the question..
  24. Its almost done as of now, just some small details left mostly lights, mudguards, airintake and aircleaner assembly in the enginebay and some other small stuff. Added the old and barely holding together decals to it and mounted the cab and sleeper to the chassie. Used a chromepen to paint the exhaust, some aircleaner details and the bottom trimpiece of the sleeper. I am going to buy some mack badge photoetch and bulldog to make it look more complete in the front. It looks good now but knowing there should be a name and bulldog on the radiatorgrille is going to bug me for ever if i dont fix that. You can also see that Italeri got lazy when converting it to a australian truck by just throwing a set of aircleaners on it (and keeping it LHD..), if it were in reality the doors would not be able to open more then a few inches..
