I would like to get some scale lug nuts. Can someone point me in the right direction? They don't need to "work". Just the looks. Thanks,
-
That's so cool! The interiors look GREAT!!! If only models could talk!

Duesenbergs and a Porsche 962 road car. progress 3/17

Lee, Those are some great projects you have there. I don't know much about those cars, but one thing is for sure: They define the word ELEGANCE in my book Thanks, -
Hello, Since this is curbsibe, there is not much you can do right? NOT. The suspension and exhaust build up nicely. I particularly like the exhaust. But since the wheels/tires cover a lot, I decided to leave the driver's side wheel off. So I added the braided brake line, center hub, center nut and studs so the wheel can be displayed out. There goes the box stock suspension Brembo logos made in my computer. Keep in mind these pics are way bigger than actual size. I hope you like it. Now on to the front suspension, interiors and body....... Thanks,

Just an update: WOHOO! It arrived safe and sound. Wipers came slightly loose but no big deal. The new owner is REALLY happy. He'll bring it to NNL east.... Thanks, -

Hello, Brass soldering opens up a new world of modeling oportunities. Frames, roll cages, firewalls, roll bars etc. The possibilities are endless. Solid brass rod vs tubing: Tubing requires careful bending to prevent kinking, and rod obviously weights more. Other than those 2 differences: Is there any advantage of one over the other? Does tubing solder faster because there is less material to heat? Thanks,

Hello, Following everybody's suggestions, off it went today in the mail. It is wrapped in toilet paper, then in flannel cloth, then in foam padding, all pressed fitted inside a display case, with tape around, with crushed newspaper all around in a much bigger box. Ohh, and I wrote the word Fragile more than once on all sides It went priority mail so hopefully it will arrive damage free and on time to be in NNL East in NJ.... Thanks, -
Beautiful! I have the Fujimi 575 which is pretty much the same kit. Any problems in your build? anything we should look out for? Thanks,
-
Mark, I've been following this build for over 2 years, since your first posts of it on the HH board. I clearly remember you saying(writing) "Yes, as crazy as it sounds I'm doing another Seven" Long time ago, I lost words for this project. But I really Really REALLY want to thank you for sharing this project with us mere mortals. Every update was a WOW! In a weird way, it's kind of sad seeing it finished But I'm sure there's more wow from you to come..... [bowing to the Master] Best Regards,

Hello, Added flocking to the interiors, roll bar painted Anthracite gray so it can be seen once installed, carbon fiber console, added scratchbuilt aluminum door handles. The unpainted spot in the roll bar will be covered with foam core leather wrapped padding. The roll bar is 2 scale inches thick. I have seen this used in roll bars, and smaller 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" for full cages. Boy is this taking long..... Thanks,

Why aren't model companies....
ismaelg replied to Mike's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi, Another factor although may not be as big, is the lack of proper care/maintenance/storage of the tools. Model companies have admitted they don't even know where some tools are. And if they find them, sometimes they are not complete. And if they are, they most likely need to be refurbished which is another cost involved. Thanks, -
No, nobody has died, and I haven't lost a pet or anything like that. (Actually I don't have a pet because my wife says I'm enough animal for the household but that's another story... ) I'm getting the blue Ferrari ready for shipping. I've never shipped a built model before, so I have no idea what to expect. I'm going for the overkill. Better safe than sorry. I drilled little holes in the base (like in those black based display cases) and used wires loops from the suspension to the base. Just like suggested by those other cases. The car was wrapped in flannel cloth. So if it rubs, it will actually polish it some more Then added some foam wrapped in flannel cloth to lightly press fit against the case. Then the case was taped to the base just in case. Yes, it is an overkill, but I'm still worried, especially about the mirrors. I still need to get a suitable box and tons of additional padding. Tsk tsk, there is a slight chance it may make it to NJ..... Thanks

Welcome to the forum! Interesting project. I recognize that powertrain, suspension craddles and floorpan  As per the forum's rules: Can you please add your full name to your signature in the profile? Thanks a lot and we look forward to see more of this build as it progresses. Thanks,

Beautiful build! I hope mine comes out that good!

Great save! That's one of the most sought after kits in history, and you did a fantastic job saving it. Thanks,

Hello, Well, calling this "chassis engine and transmission" is a bit misleading, because all you see here is just one chunk of plastic. Everything here is a single molded piece. I did my best to bring it to life with careful masking for the black and the aluminum areas. I added Scale Motorsports carbon fiber decal to the transmission pan. The oil filter was painted orange just because, and the engine has a careful wash with black, brown and blue acrylics. I will use different metal finishes in the suspension and exhaust to give it some life. What do you think? Thanks,
-
Welcome to the forum. That's a cool chopper! Nice graphics. Are those the kit's decals? Thanks,

Welcome to the forum! Very cool builds, but that Camaro blows me away. I love the weld details and the antenna!!! -
Very nice MJ! Love it! Masking and airbrushing like Jairus suggested is the way to go. If the strip is relatively flat (not a ridge or anything like that), you can also try using a painted strip of masking tape and add just a touch of white glue at the edges to prevent lifting. Thanks,
-
Nitido! Si quieres pon los detalles y yo lo traduzco..... (que escala, que kit, pintura, modificaciones etc) Saludos!
