Ismael, save your money man!!

I'm the first in line, but unfortunately, on Revell, not on a GM dealer That is sooooo sweeet looking. But of course, I may be biased..... hmmmm....... How about a putting a Revell Z06 and a C6R to the mercy of a #11 blade and putty?.......... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Just what I needed: Another project idea and I'm not even in the country..... I'm shaking you know..... Thanks, -
Ken, I totally agree with Bob. I did build the Revell many years ago, but I was just a kid The Revell Magnum kit is not the best in terms of fit and accuracy. It seems to be a mix of a GTB (interiors, roof) a GTS (side louvers) and early prototypes (back bumper?). To me it also looks to be a tad smaller than the advertised 1/24 scale. Working features like the opening headlights and opening hatch makes it flimsy and fit is not the best. I have both the Revell and the Monogram and I decided to go with the Monogram one. Thanks,

Jeff, That is very nice! I always liked the looks of those cars. I remember building the Testor's one a gazillion years ago when I was a kid without even painting anything.... Thanks,
-
Looking good Terry! Mine is still in primer. It should start getting color as soon as I get back. Thanks,

Len, It is a Sherline. I believe it is a 4100 but I'm not sure since it was originally sold under the SEARS Craftsman brand. Thanks, Ismael

Working Rear Shocks and Driveshaft with articulated U-joints

HA! And I'm happy to machine a cylinder.... duh! Looks great, as expected. When I grow up (I'll grow old, but never grow up) I want to be like you Thanks, -
Hello, I was going to install the halfshafts on a C5 Z06. Then it hit me: How about machining performance half-shafts? Longer boots and thicker shaft. It came out much better looking than the plastic one. I'll paint the boots black but will leave the shaft itself unpainted. It came out slightly shorter, but that's no problem. Anyways, you can't see them once all the suspension is assembled. Thanks,

Thank you all very much for the nice comments. I really appreciate! Thanks, -
Ken, that is awesome! Never thought that trailer was that big. All it needs is a racing Corvette  Thanks,

I don't know anything about motorcycles, but I like how this one looks. I especially like the wheels. Is this one of those bigger scale motorcycles? Thanks,

That's very nice Steve! A classic color combo. Thanks,

Little things make a BIG difference: Ferrari 308 progress
ismaelg replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Rest? I'm already suffering withdrawal because I'll be out of the country next week. And last time I took putty (Milliput) on a trip, it looked like plastic explosives to an airport official  Thanks, -
Hello again, Simple doesn't mean bad. I'm impressed on how simple this Monogram Ferrari 308 GTB kit is, yet it looks very good. It probably has less than 40 parts. This is a kit I would have put together in 15 minutes in the past Now, it takes me that time to find the right tool for doing something..... Anyways, since it is a curbside, the engine cover doesn't even has molded lines. So I scribed them. Before: During: After: A little sanding and some more light scribing to make it deeper and it will be ready for final primer and color. Thanks,
-
Bob, On your 308, did you need to use any primer or barrier to paint the red plastic interiors a light color? I plan to paint mine light tan, but the red plastic is a concern. I plan to use Model Master paints as usual. Maybe a light coat of Moom Mud? A coat of MM aluminum? Any comments or tips? Thanks,

Hello, It is finally finished!!!!! My 2006 Z06 in Cobra Colors Velocity Yellow. This is one of those builds I can set on the dining table, stand back, look at it and smile with pride. It is by no means perfect, but I am proud of how it came out. It looks even better in person than in the pics. Sorry for the many pics but I took 105 pictures and narrowed it down to 12 or so. This is probably my favorite pic This is probably my favorite pic The blue car in the framed picture is actually my C6 convertible model And that is me with the C6-R on the wall Yes I love the movie, but don't look at the wall. Look at car!!! This is probably my favorite pic My very own license plate. From the side profile you can see the massive calipers and the valve stems Fully detailed engine bay including the famous oil tank, jump starting warning decal, MAF sensor wiring, electricals, plumbing etc. Here you can see another look of the dry sump oil tank. Interiors are very hard to see but everything is there. I love the underside of this car. Especially the exhaust. I always have plenty of reference material for visitors and friends to enjoy. As usual, your comments are welcome. Thanks,

Begining to look like a car: Entering the home stretch
ismaelg replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The Blue Devil project has been around for over a year and a half. It is supposed to be a supercharged 600+ HP monster weighting less than 3000 pounds. It is "suppose" to be kept officially under wraps until Jan 1st, to be unveiled as a 2008 MY... I can't afford it. But I'm already in line to get Revell's version. Thanks, -
Although nobody is doing those decals as far as I know, that scheme should not be very hard to mask and paint using LeMans blue from Cobra Colors. Only the red may be a bit of a challenge. Decals can probably be combined between C6-R and C5-R kits. I would have to take a closer look. Gee, Just what I needed: Another project idea. Thanks folks.... By the way, only yellow C5-R and C6-R cars have won Le Mans. Is that what it takes to keep winning, keep 'em yellow! Thanks,
