  1. I'm self-retired, so opinions of the guest will not necessarily reflect those of the station. I've heard so many retirements going great, then bam! My dad worked his butt off all his life, took early retirement from the NPS, got a couple world level trips in, then was diagnosed with Parkinson's, after being incorrectly diagnosed for something else, had traumatic lead poisoning just before Thanksgiving. I've heard of corporate people, who seem to have thought golf was the only thing, and then literally get bored to death. A friend worked for ADOT, took years to get over waking up to the clock, he had to remove the clock from the bedroom. That's why I've always had hobbies, which could interfere with work, because I never had the discipline for 8 to 5. I'm plenty busy, have to keep the memory function operating or I'll lose it.
  2. Clickbait, missing information in title. ? I think the '57 Chevy is an A.I. rendering, but someone would build it. Since I'm here, the man with the yellow go-cart was having a blast during the parade. I would get more time at parades, than the bloody golf course.

    Poison Pinto

I built one as a teen, when it was a new kit. Please don't tell me what eBay prices are now. That's cool how you are taking modern techniques to resurrect a model, very impressed. Mine got demo derbied, some parts made into other hack jobs. ?
  4. Thank you for starting the topic! Thank you Veterans, too bad it's not a whole month. I went down to Prescott's parade just to watch, was just going to take pictures from the sidewalk of the Prescott Antique Auto Club. Because it's still a small town, I know people, and was invited to ride in the parade! We are lined up ready to get on Cortez Street. Thumb Butte is beyond. The owner of the '68 Oldsmobile 442 is a Vet, and she takes the older Vet in the parade every year. I've known them for decades. This is Whiskey Row. Blessed to be an American, blessed to not be a complete hermit only building models all the time. ? ??
  5. Wrong town, comeon. ?
  6. Funny the subject is stink bugs. The Juniper stink bug, same noxious odor, if in the house they dive bomb you.
  7. Midget Mouse was the first transmission expert. ? [side note: I know someone with one in a stack of other car stuff. Was imagining a go-cart chassis, Hyabusa(?) engine....]
  8. edit: wrong use of that word, skip over me.
  9. Lot'll wordsmithing nonsense in recent history.
  10. Nice! The Mugen is one of the last I completed.
  11. That dealership burnt
  12. Help from SpillChick can ruin a conversation.
  13. I'm pleased to say I got on my bench last week, but not for car models. Restored 5 rockets that I built last century (1976 seems like history LOL), the rubber shock cords are sewing elastic. Found drawings of designs, glad to say there are X-15 and Sidewinder models now so I don't have to scratch build them. One design is a LSR car, so that will be moved to the front burner. The V-2, dad took me to Penrose, CO, to the Estes factory in 1976, paint based on a magazine article, someday I should go to White Sands and send it! Made a stand from a scavenged light mount, can put at several places in the house. I designed these. Last 2 days have been very calm, hope tomorrow is.
  14. Long live Seals!
  15. Very nice! I owned a 1987 Si, bought the kit back then before they became collector items. I built it, but customized with an Acura turboed engine, before I joined this forum.
  16. I was going to show the Rat I trapped, but you beat me to it.
  17. I went to a local vacuum shop (still family owned, fixes anything) and walked out with this vintage saw. The owner said the 93 year old man would be thrilled to get $50 for it. I already have an old wormdrive Skil saw, don't need it, but it's hardly been abused. Something about old tools, polished aluminum, obsolete design guard, and I sure wouldn't want to schlep this gym around all day! Weird thing to be pleased about. ?
  18. *edit* Dinner was before sunset so I could get a front row seat, when later the killer sunrise showed an awesome display. [since it's top of the page, prior post was 'dinner']
