  1. My dad had Fords, this '52 at Toroweap Point, someone in the auto club has one the same color. Thanks for that advice!
  2. Singer keeps upping the ante, holy smokes!
  3. At 7:38 you can see some models in back. πŸ˜…
  4. This morning Bosa Donuts PV cruise. ~clears throat~ no politics. πŸ€ͺ
  5. I save the planet by using the rain to wet-sand GYMEE. 😜 Fluctuating around 85ºF. Got a half inch yesterday, just a tease today so far. So now the humidity is up, I can't be in the sun midday. What it looked like this morning when I rode the bike, the Hero Dirt was nice.
  6. Sorry, more of my Carport Find (AZ's version of Barn Find) GYMEE. Using my model building experience. Just to tease everyone 😈 this is what a Southwest worktruck, then stored under a roof, looks like. Dry rot is our enemy. It came with a practically new gas tank, started that task. But I really wanted to get rid of the wrap and get the steering wheel smooth. All good paint has been polished. I'm not a mechanic, but I can tear stuff apart. This generator indicates how long it hibernated. Looked at two plugs, black soot but not burnt. Oil looks new, not black. After polishing off a bottle of 🍷, and it was gorgeous last night, polished these emblems. Started on removing the cheap repaint. I need to get yards of sandpaper!!!
  7. Love the run what you brung! This car is special with the car club. The new custodian brought it on a flatbed, but drove it to the club cruise. So sketchy "on the road", but he promised the now deceased Charter Club Member he would drive it to the next show (coming soon). I attended that member's service. And some other vehicles.
  8. Nostalgia rules people.
  9. Appreciate the comments, cherish those memories! Here is another picture dad took, that is also the North Rim but to the west, Toroweap Point. I want to camp there, did when I first got married.
  10. Just like when I'm in a model building mood (which I totally lack at the moment) I'm totally obsessed/possessed with this pickup. The label says Kelsey Products, same company that is known for wire wheels? I was thinking of rebuilding the engine, but that idea is losing ground. Had to get it pulled forward to do the back wheels, so here is the tailgate and ugly hitch. Got all the good paint polished inside. Love the bottom of the door. As it sits, polished hubcaps and new tires. The Prescott Antique Auto Club show is coming up soon, first weekend of August.
  11. Tell me Apple if there *might* be *any* rain today: That is not temperature. πŸ˜… Oh look..... just enough to change plans.
  12. I've conditioned myself to block out the perimeter ads, simply ignore, dart around like an ant looking for what interests me on just the page, focus. I stopped watching cable TV around 2008, never turn on the TV at a motel, last time I checked it was 100% [bleepity beeping bleeper] ads. Just don't look at the voluptuous women...... oh wait... I'll be back......
  13. Over finished terminated.
  14. energy scammer exposed
  15. It's almost like I'm working again, up early to do this and get that. Today it was getting all four tires under the truck. I had two already mounted, so I got the front done early. Had a neighbor yank it forward a bit, so I could get the back done. Polished the hubcaps. Didn't need to do anything with the wheels, which was nice for a change. I'm committed to staying at Survivor "barn find" non-SEMA class. Oh my, look at all that rust on this Southwest climate protected from the brutal sun (need a steel carport) worktruck. Even the way the exhaust dips down at the end is cool. The trailer hitch should be good rear weight bias, like what I did with Blue Cloud. Note to OCD Patina detail experts, grease at the springs, steering ends, etc., extra points. Check out the right taillight lens, more Patina points. Not a receiver trailer hitch, did those exist then? We have to get new plates, getting a cool one. How about this for a "parts box"? πŸ˜… If you want to build a one for a diorama, fill with extra parts! Sound is missing from photographs, doesn't take much to amuse me.
  16. within nuclear waste
  17. USFS Powerwagen firetruck. Dad was friends with this guy.
  18. For once I know more about something than you. 🫒 I started a new topic just before this. It's all over the news, the same two pictures and same press release. *edit* Please make it stop!
  19. The second time the North Rim Lodge burnt down. But last time there wasn't modern Codes, so I don't think it will ever be rebuilt. This really ticks me off: [...] initially managed as a controlled burn after being sparked by lightning on July 4, rapidly spread due to high winds and dry conditions. [...] Who keeps telling us there is a drought? Who runs the weather forecast system? My dad retired from the NPS just when they changed their policy, if natural caused let it burn. But come on, no excuse for this. I'm really depressed since I lived on the South Rim as a kid. Dad was a Seasonal at the North Rim, mom was working for Fred Harvey, the rest is history. Now this iconic Park Service lodge (and gas station and other buildings) looks like California. He took this slide picture. I stayed in a log cabin several years ago, took a Mule ride, sure glad I did, you never know.
  20. Beautiful no more. πŸ˜ͺ
