What did you see on the road today?

Back to weather, unpredictable by phone, the radio guy called for a chance of rain. A quick shower, the sleet lasted only half a minute. Second rainbow that I took a picture, the third one arced below the horizon (no pic), which was around Noon. Had a friend/contractor beg me to draw plans, not even for them. π Just a Plot Plan, yes. On the return, explored what was down a dirt road, there is a ranch at the end, and I didn't see any signs but turned around. If I lived out here, would *have to* own a Rally race car for a daily driver. π

I only read the comments, may watch later. Seems like it's just us old farts posting here. π€ Before everyone had a phone with a camera, before the interwebs, young and dumb and full of ___ did stupid things. I missed growing up with cars like some of you, so I cannot relate. But I've seen plenty of videos, search 'Saudi Arabia drifting fail', coming soon to a country near you. I will mention video games, I know some on this forum are into them, I see those as a scourge, so you crash playing Need For Speed, there is a reset, no such button in a real car. Ken Block made hooning the cool thing to do, seems like a conspiracy with tire companies; ever since his demise, Hoonigan has fallen apart, the team broke up, and it's just not the same. The lack of places to drive fast, like a track, is disappearing. I know of a private track next to Luke A.F. base in Phoenix, the neighbors were constantly complaining about the noise, the County came in during an event and shut it down. But the owner fought back, far as I know it's still there. Bee Line Dragway closed in 1975. I've done track time at Firebird, think it's still around. Otherwise no wonder people street race. DPS has been posting arrests in Phoenix, people going way over 100MPH. My youngest daughter served in the Navy 5 years. She is my tomboy, into Ricer cars, told me about spectating a street race where the cops showed up. I didn't serve, and never got arrested for driving fast (not saying I don't ha ha). So I'm on the fence about going back to a draft. BTW: IMO Darwin's Evolution theory is just that, what I'm observing is devolution, thanks to all the warning labels on everything.

Because the mornings are chilly, and it's that time of year, took down the sunscreens from the sunroom skylights. Living on the edge. β¬οΈ Still boring clear sky, but something is coming.
-
Just boring clear sky, no wind to speak of, t-shirt weather. No clouds this way. Or that way. Found some Fall color, but nothing like CO. It was chilly this morning, but not enough to turn on the heat. Some forecasts say it will be stormy this Winter.

May the best happen for you on this, no fun at all. Always takes major things to bring a deeper perspective on life. I've been helping a neighbor, her husband went to Alaska to hunt, got Carbon monoxide poisoning, complicated by bad life decisions which have built up over time. They are expected to return tomorrow, after being gone a month, but he goes into a care home. I know that I better write up an owners manual for my house, after stepping in to help maintain their property. All my irk was, I wanted to get a new gasket where the air filter housing that sits on the Holley Carb (Chevy 350), 5" diameter. NAPA didn't have one in stock, so they ordered it. Show up later and am handed gaskets about 2" in diameter, so that was an immediate refund, and I can tell the guy does this all day long. Just simple round gaskets, that's all I want, why does it have to be so hard?

It's Arizona Highways weather, drove up to Flagstaff to see Fall color. It was windy and the air was crisp. This is where everyone goes, on the way to Snow Bowl. Took the loop through Harts Prairie, almost nobody here. Thick frost on the trees under the cloud on the Peaks. On the way home, explored an area that still looks parched, despite having good rain, evidence is tracks in the dried mud. I drove up the the cell tower. It was 63ΒΊF. Usually first thing in the morning there are no clouds, they build up the most around Noon, then dissipate in the afternoon.

π No, A.I. centers are the new energy hog, so no room for smelting and forging heavy metal unless Area 51 dumps their tech onto the human species.

This is complicated..... could also be put in the Pleased thread, but here goes. Drake is a nice paved road going to a drug money laundering cement plant, GPS thinks it's an alternate route, but there are signs saying it's not because it turns to nasty mud. It was a traffic jam in the middle of nowhere, then half of the traffic turned left and we got back to normal. I will represent other people working for a living, U-turns had to blow. Picture going south 89, where the "C" in canyon is.

Ditto first comment, but the other way around, anything that is patina gets my attention, and it's not even a rally car after a stage. The base needs attention, when you have the materials and an idea, it can save an awful kit. I see everyone else likes the last one, and you never see one at a model contest, ever. π

Set of tires is something like $35,000, and don't last long when doing record runs. I just saw the one-off Aston Martin DBS (correct me if wrong, their first V8) water cut glass, 4 pieces was $40,000! Keeping up with the Jones' with insane money, meh. π«₯
