  1. Looks real to me, but what do I know about fake cars. 😏 Also dodgy to take pictures while driving, I never do that. πŸ™„ This is my on-the-road shot for tonight, the beginning of White Spar, I'm doing about 2 MPH, not twice the posted suggestion on the corner signs. Earlier today, outside a mechanic's shop sat this C-10, been in the family forever, he has it with a built engine. So I'll *have to* show him my Green Barge.
  2. Still no rain! I even washed Fakerri, did the 50 mile Skull Valley loop (I used to be able to ride a bicycle on that). I even aimed where the clouds were, top down. Just more sunset pictures. Tonight it's 72ºF, 18% humidity, heard it's been record low dew point readings lately, not good for thunderstorm buildup. That is Whiskey Row. I don't dare go into a bar with this parked outside. 😏
  3. No rain, we are about 80% below a "normal" Monsoon by this time. The half inch I got cools it down at night, it's 71ΒΊF now. Almost missed this sunset.
  4. The last girlfriend asked me install an a/c unit in her basement rental. It's a casement window that opens inward, these are not designed for such a window, so the accordion part is going into recycle. Fingers crossed it goes into the opening, and yada yada. I ripped all sides of scavenged Redwood, today's lumber blows. Been forever since I did such a project.
  5. Didn't I see that you have to post pictures, or you didn't see it? πŸ˜‰ Last century when I had a '57 Chevy station wagon, I met this guy with that '57 4 door Hardtop. At the time he was trying a turbo. I'm sure it's him, but was driving Stealth.
  6. Hey wrong thread. 😜 Crotch rocket Donorcycles on AZ69 are abusing the lane splitting law, and doing 80 sometimes. Club cruise night last week.
  7. RIP Tower of the model kit world.
  8. Talking about cutting trees would bump me into the negative thread. I still have the brochure for the '77 Honda Civic my dad got and I started driving on. At the time (late 70s) I would beg to stop at dealers so I could get sales literature. It was long after they gave away promo models, I missed that era. I'm pleased that Fakerri brakes in a straight line again.
  9. It's a continuing saga of not getting parts for a 56 year old car. But the mechanic tells me of stories about modern cars, with a ridiculous amount of computers. Appointment at 9:00, out about 3:30. His computer said one brake line was in one store, but they couldn't find it, so just the front pair got replaced. It's been like this for everything on this car. I'm still undecided on keeping that car, so just wanted to spend only what I had to (like everyone). So another appointment to make...... but on to the positive thread.
  10. I really should know better, look at my Shelf Of Doom, juggling two resurrection projects now. Back to Fakerri, went to Snow Cap for lunch a couple weeks ago, brakes started getting dicey, parked. My Fakebook icon picture. Got the turn signals, air horns, and now with new back-up lights to all work! Because I hired a mechanic who knows wiring. Interior is old and delaminating glue. In this case I had left over silicon caulking to use up, have steel blocks and heavy hammer from my dad, gluing the edges of the console panel. Today it took almost all day to get the brakes working correctly, I could have finished a WIP. It was darting to the side, a Corvette forum thread talked about the issue that is common with these cars, brake line was found to have been kinked, tiny hole enough to suck air. Separate Irked and Pleased topics right here. GYMEE was ignored today. Had to move Blue Cloud, faithful workhorse, hauled all the gravel for the driveway. Took a drive through our National Forest, fire crews were out, dirt road was recently graded, avoided temptation for rally turns. Had to wash the wheel/tires.
  11. installed yesterday, seriously
  12. Oh wait.... what thread is this? πŸ€ͺ We are all praying for the "Monsoon" rains to start. Several layers of clouds today, these Cirrus lit off tonight. The prediction was for a wet season, totally wrong.
  13. Is it Beer-o-clock?
  14. Now that you point that out, yes I do. Thank you. So no Rally Cross. I know there are also reproductions of the tray, but for now I don't know if the engine runs. There was a new-like gas tank, that's in, but no new filler neck part, or sender. List is getting longer.... The plastic filter is temporary. Air hose blew out the generator, check out the wasp nest. Nobody in town tests generators. Everyone just puts on alternators. Oh gosh, good excuse for new twice pipes. Artsy shot. Imagining some sort of light. Nothing about model building, other than weathering and details.
  15. For a change of pace, the only time I tune into NPR is for 'Hearts Of Space'. Right now Sunday night for 2 hours, almost always instrumental.
  16. Tonight it's 72ΒΊF, had light showers that reminded me of Hawaii. The monsoon is tepid so far for me, some spots have received almost an inch. Insect swarms are happening. It has greened up all over, but not enough to pull weeds.
  17. Trust me, it's a HUGE money pit, and you don't need a garage. 😬 Making progress on unveiling the original paint. I'm trying some real mechanic stuff, which I revealed to myself, again....... New battery (try finding a Group 24 at ChinaMart), made the holdown from scavenged bed frame angle, combined with J-bolts that needed to be shortened 2". So far so good, have a shutoff now. My mistake was assuming the original positive cable was the correct length, tape measured before taking off the cable. Then I saw something... Oh what a dummy, need the next longer cable. I bet anything the previous owner had sporadic starting and gave up. It would take only 300 miles to cause this, correct? Why am I trying to save a few bucks, this will be three trips to NAPA, good thing I can exchange parts! This evening between light showers, polished the back bumper. All the extra parts are in the bed, I'm not camping. Then there was a sunset. The Honda is parked like that, so rain can land where it's usually parked to wash the fresh gravel. I need to turn the engine that hibernated for 20 years. 😬
  18. My dad had Fords, this '52 at Toroweap Point, someone in the auto club has one the same color. Thanks for that advice!
  19. Singer keeps upping the ante, holy smokes!
  20. At 7:38 you can see some models in back. πŸ˜…
