  1. OH oh! ðŸĪĐ I can answer this with zero reservation now! Gumball Rally is a top 5 favorite movie, some was filmed in my town. One of the antique auto club's founding members just passed away, at the memorial service, family said the movie company paid him $400 to close his gas station for a day. Always loved the Daytona, built the Fujimi kit last century, entered it in my first contest, no awards at all, but a fellow model club member encouraged me to continue, and I have. Anyways, a Fakebook contact of mine who works on real cool cars (building a Speed Racer from scratch), and makes resin models, brokered this car for a deceased friend's widow. Sent the check today, if you have to ask, it's about $1.5 million less than the real thing. I'm calling it a Fakearri 350GTS Daytona Spyder, because it's a '69 Corvette with a boob job. 😅 I'm already wanting to put Cibie lights on it, like the movie car. I never owned a sports car before, love them, just couldn't swing it before, so this is my retirement gift. I see there is a forum in England for kit cars, found a thread about this Robinhood body, so I might join just to post pictures of sunny AZ, Route 66, Grand Canyon, autocross, etc. 😁
  2. See everyone is still hogging ALL the snow! ðŸ˜ģ I would love to take some from you. I have the very last drafting job I've done, driving me absolutely crazy with the bloody building department. I will always say the government has caused the lack of "Affordable Housing" because of kleptocrats forcing everyone to beg for permission to make a living. Picked up this client about 3 years ago, for an addition to a house. Finding a builder who wouldn't quote a price for more than the house originally cost a few years ago, was a delay. The department doing the plan check, the woman was told me I was doing something wrong, that I've done for decades, I emailed an explanation why she was wrong, never got a response. The Flood Control District woman is hassling me about what the Finish Floor Elevation is on this existing house. I used the County G.I.S. website to get what I thought would be close enough. It's a gentle slope, I put red boxes around the topo lines. The bureaucracy has their own website that is not available to the public, here is what she sent me. (address is pubic so I didn't redact it) This subdivision has it's own regulation about the F.F.E. being minimum 12" above grade, which the existing house has. The addition is going where the grade is LOWEST, Uncommon Sense says it will be fine. But now she is suggesting that a Surveyor will have to come out, before they can get a Certificate Of Occupancy. I asked if the floor is too low, would they have to raise the whole house, or would there have to be a step up? No response, other than sending the screenshot. If she bothered to do a site visit, it would be obvious there is no problem, but oh no, submit peon! This Flood Control District was going to fix a washed out street in my Water District, which is in an area that hasn't been built with homes, yet. Their Engineer's design cut through the street with a gabion basket wall, which would have forced you to drive across adjacent lots. I'm on the water district board, we meet with a bureaucrat who said they had to stay with the current path of the stream. Board Chair used to work with ADOT, he asked their local Engineer about this, was told that the County just didn't want to get a permit from the Army Corps of Engineers. So they dropped it! And I know of a guy in my neighborhood who had started building a house 8 years ago without a permit, was caught, he submitted garbage as-built drawings, has flagrantly violated zoning regulations, and the County lets him slide for some reason. The Double Standard must be nice. But don't worry, same government is going to provide "Affordable Housing" for us. I will be so glad to officially declare I'm retired. /end rant/
  3. Charms choked cats consumed with curiosity.
  4. Saw this car for sale several months ago, via a contact on Fakebook (not Marketplace). He posted yesterday that a buyer flaked out, so he put it up again. Just made the deal with the widow of my contact's friend. Yes it's a fake, but it will go with my dad's fake Rolex. 😅
  5. I'm trying to spark my interest in building something, pulled this out to look at what is needed. I've done this sort of thing, and finished the projects. 🙄 So I gotta start somewhere, a real mockup will be posted if I can pull my head out.
  6. Bill is on a roll.
  7. It depends what "is" is. ðŸĪŠ
  8. warranty extension expired
  9. Man... that's a model? Love the weathering on top of everything else.
  10. ðŸ˜ģ WOW! Doing a fantastic job, the subtle weathering really brings out the details. You doing it as right after finishing a race?
  11. I saw the red bar for the first time, wondered what's going on. Since I'm getting in via the email notification, guess I'm good.
  12. Yes I have this, the the Hasagawa kits in my stash. 🙄 Love the engine details.
  13. Impressive weathering! But did it just get a new engine? 😉
  14. I'm staying tuned to this one! I built the Lamborghini Silhouette by (Gunze - Sangyo) Testors a couple years ago, so of course I have to see how your project comes along. Would you tackle the 1964 350 GT next? Please? 😉
  15. Shocking! ðŸĪŠ Looking great, loving the straight 6 with trumpets.
  16. This just makes me feel older. I had an '87 Civic, this is the next generation, and it has a Historic Vehicle plate! That's just wrong man! 🙄 Snapped this close to where I turn off this highway, temporary plate. Does anyone have a median that is this huge?
