Model King / Moebius Joe Weatherly '61 Catalina
waynehulsey replied to S. Svendsen's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Has anything been firmed up on the release for this; or is it already out and I've been hiding in the cave so much I havn't seen it? -
Got a note from my old employer (Transdev, formerly Veolia Transportation) that I retired from about a year and half ago. Looked like a card of some kind, so thought well birthday coming up maybe they're sending me a birthday card. Opened it up and it was an invite to a dinner for the Million Mile Club Awards. Thought I'd made it, but hadn't hear anything. They were always a year or so behind on them because they have to check all your records for tickets, accidents, etc. Sort of a big deal to me actually.

Where's this Gem?
waynehulsey replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ding, ding, ding. OK Greg you hit one that would be one I wouldn't mind seeing again. Actually I liked the box art. One of the few rod versions I liked, guess because it was influenced by Indy roadster styling. And I thought the slant 6 with the Weber side drafts was fantastic. Still have one mint kit and I think enough extra salvaged XR-6 parts to put one together. -
What do you drive?

2016 Focus mid trim. Picked it up in April to replace my 2008 that got t-boned in a hit and run from a guy running a stop sign off a side street. Lease turn in with 18,000 miles on it so was about 2500 dollars less then a comparable 2017, Main complaint is an automatic. But you can only get a 5sd manual in the base car which isn't available as a hatchback or a 6 speed in the STV which would have been about another 5 grand for the 2015 with 40K on it they had on the lot. At least with the dark blue the black wheels don't look too bad on it. Not really crazy about the sun roof. Now if I could just figure out all the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH electronics on the dash board. Already had 5 or 6 cds stolen out of it a couple of weeks ago when I guess I accidently bumped the unlock button on the keys when I was out in the yard and didn't notice. -

Pretty amazing work, glad to see you back at it. -
Looking good.

As people who know me will attest to, that finishing it will be a novelty.

Had tinkered with this a couple of years ago. With sort of stalling out on the paper models for a bit dug it out to do some more work on it.

Thanks Peter. Believe Maly Modelarz (always wondered what it meant) is still available. I've got a couple of theirs that are available on the internet like a Tatra 603. A few more photos. Build a new air intake. Wasn't real happy with the original. Then went to Cali for a show and my cat made up my mind for me with deciding it was best used as a good chew toy. Actually trying to decide on the main body since I've done so much modifications to it, that it may be easier to start over to get it to where I want.

Vintage Popcorn Wagon

Nice work. -
A 33 or 35 would require completely new tooling. Different wheelbases, completely different frame for 35. Not that I wouldn't mind seeing either one as long as there was a stock version. Basically zero interest in hot rod or custom versions. Glad to see that the hot rod versions are selling well for Revell, since that may give them enough income to occasionally throw us replica stock builders a crumb.

Left it on the store shelf.

Put me down as one of those who doesn't. Only a few months, like from April through October. The rare times it rains are usually cloud bursts with the possibilities of hail, lightening and high winds instead of nice, gentle rain that lasts for a day. Haven't seen fog since I was in Morro Bay about 3 years ago. My last attempt to get out of here got torn apart, just trying to get things put together so I can try again.

Bummer, your photos have went into limbo.
