  1. Be careful what you wish for. But if you really want to, just go have a heart attack, get old and fat, get lots of wrinkles and snow white hair. Then you'll be well on your way to being like me.
  2. Thanks to everyone for the very nice comments.
  3. LOL There are no green highlights. That's my camera. I set the white balance, then used a gray backround. Notice the shadows under the car are also green. I may have to redo these pics.
  4. I bought both of these from RMR when I was in Toledo. Together, they were $75. So,,,,,the '41 coupe is either $35, or $40 LOL. The donor kit, oddly enough, is the Revell '41 Willys street rod kit. The body, hood, grille, frame and full interior floor pan is included. You add the Willys kit suspension, interior parts (seats, etc.) and whatever engine you want.
  5. Tom Kren is this annoying little dude in Ohio who builds everything that I build !!!!!!!!
  6. The boot slid to the side a little when I turned the model for the picture. Nothing in the kit is "ill fitting".
  7. Nope. Has nothing to do with the '50 Ford. The chopped windshield is simply a result of removing the roof from the Revell Merc. The top is completely handmade from several pieces, including part of the original "hard" roof. I spent about 3 weeks getting the Carson just right. From January, 2008
  8. These are coming up soon on the bench. Cool stuff from RMR, mastered by Steve Zimmerman. '41 Chevy panel truck. The wheels are '06 Mustang kit wheels with '51 Chevy small caps glued to the centers. They'll have disc brakes behind them. I think I'm going to do the truck in a Harley theme. Second cool thing from RMR is this '41 Chevy chopped coupe. Wheels are from some recently released kit (Revell I think) but I don't know which one. I put some discs behind these, used Revell decals on them and added the caliburs from the parts box. This car may be Duplicolor Metal Specks orange. Or,,,,,,,,,,,maybe I'll just paint everything lime green and put them all on mirrors so I can be just like Tom Kren.
  9. Installed the 302 Ford from the Revell '32 Ford kit. Wheels are from AMT Chrysler 300. Grille is two '54 DeSoto grilles combined to make it longer. Grille bullets are the spot lights from the Revell Merc kit. Stock '49 Merc tailights are from the AMT '53 Ford F-100 kit.
  10. Nick, That one isn't mine,,,,that's Steve Zimmerman's. He mastered the resin body. Mine is still in the box.
  11. I'm waiting for Kren to paint his, so I can make one just like it. But mine will have one-off wheels. I also have one of these but I'm waiting to see what color Z-Man paints his.
  12. No email here and I've had the same email address since 1997.
  13. I assume you mean that the seats are torn. Slice a "slot" in the plastic seats where a person's weight would be, such as, where the driver sits. Install small amounts of dryer lint into the "slot". Make it very subtle, not a foot long. Along with dirtying up the entire interior, this should give the look you want.
  14. Doing a header off the bike isn't odd. What's odd is someone your age still "TRYING TO FIGURE OUT YOUR GIRLFRIEND". Some things in life just have to be accepted for what they are. No one knows where elephants go to die. No one knows why whales beach themselves. No one knows why dogs eat their own ######. and NO ONE knows how to figure out women.
  15. Fantastic job. Beautiful build. MUCH more detailed than the one I did. Love the vinyl top.
  16. Sure. Norm doesn't advertise individual parts from kits, parts he will gladly sell you just the Carson top. To do that though, you will have to call him directly to get a price. 410-768-3648. I made that top to EXACTLY fit this body, so if you're going to wack the roof off another car, leave extra material on the first cut and work slowly to get the roof and body contours just right.
  17. The kit comes with a resin copy of the Wagonrod frame. You don't HAVE to use the Wagonrod running gear. You can add whatever engine and suspension components you want.
  18. Nope. Although Norm always gives me the first one out of the molds, I told him to sell them in Toledo and I would get mine later. So,,,,,I got mine yesterday at our meeting. I painted and detailed the sub-assemblies many months ago while waiting for Norm to get this thing into rubber.
  19. I like my Carson top better than the one in your photograph. I also got a 41 Chevy panel in Toledo. I'll wait to see how you do yours, then I'll do mine exactly the same.
  20. Well, Reps & Mins finally was able to get this in resin after about a 10 month wait. All ya need now is a Revell '49 Merc donor kit. Body has fade away fender lines. Carson top is separate. Big round tailight holes are smoothed over so that any tailights can be used
  21. Be sure to lower that windshield. It's a very nice kit but the windshield is way too high.
  22. Here's Lois Lane today,,,,,at 87 years old. Wonder if she still drives?
  23. George,Glad you had a good time. Just so you know, Norm's last name is Veber, with a "V",,,,,,,not Weber. Hope to see you again next year.
  24. All the pics are here: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_car...oledo-nnl-2008/
  25. Uh,,,,,,,,,why does Bob Dudek look like he's the victim of an un-natural act?
