  1. Those wheels do look nice …
  2. Hate to say it Cman - i think the 50 year old 25th sc IMC GT40 kit i just got is better engineered …
  3. Dave B - this car ran the 1964 Sebring race as the #20 entry - have a look at the workbench thread that i threw up on the 64 Sebring 12 hours - start on pg 1 - could you be convinced to join the group build ? About a dozen entries have been chosen to date - whuch means that there are over 60 entries left to choose - maybe one of the Ferrari P cars ? Is Hobart where I think it is ?
  4. As the rows or lines or swirls are applied - the wooden tool - made fr a tooth pick - wears down and has to be replaced - so in picture 4 - the second to top row was made with the worn tool - and the top row was applied with the new one …. You can see the difference….
  5. Excellent engine bay finish one tiny criticism - no sidewall detail on the tires … but thats on the kit maker - not on the builder …
  6. Oh dear my AmEx card is trembling…
  7. Model factory hiro makes some fuel line for large scale and small - but its hard to source - have a look around for the next Cosworth …
  8. T - actually I considered your method - but decided that I wanted the rows of turned metal - although these rows are way over-scale - so I just consider it a “scale casualty”. Anyhow - Stay on board - i think you’ll like it when it comes together …
  9. Can you get the sugar free Cracker Jacks ? just kidding …
  10. they don't have Cracker Jack in France, do they ??
  11. If you were American - I would make a joke about Cracker Jack - since you're not: good drawings - cutaway - 3 view studio photography - I think you'll find it helpful let me know ... abs - miami by the way - contrary to what you may have heard - Elvis has, in fact, "left the building" ...
  12. This is helpful - still think the Acme casting is better than the UPC slot body - more investigation needed …
  13. Crazy C - following your postings on Britmodeler - great stuff - thanks for crossing the Atlantic - do you have this - very good feature - mite be helpful …
  14. I had forgotten how good those Protar wheels were - years before 3D printing …
  15. And nice workbench - I / we / feel right at home …
  16. Therefore the bonnett behind the wheel well is about 3/16s short - which is why Ace and I need some renshape …. Now once this change is made I’ll probably lose the scale correct wheelbase - but the plus is that the engine comparent will look better - and the bonnett will look correct - its the best we can do until someone sits down at a computer and draws a correct Daytona for 3D printing [any takers?]
  17. Here’s what went wrong the Bradford HRM Daytona body appears to have mastered based upon drawings published in 1964 in the English Model Cars magazine - these drawings were generally good - but the artist often did not have detailed measurments - so mistakes were made … the wheelbase was correct but the body measurments differ from those done by an architect who measured 2287 - since the body length is too long on the Model Cars drawings - the bonnett got short shifted to come up with the right wheelbase …
  18. Try this instead - buy some renshape and cut a slice that’s about .125 to .130 …
  19. Great idea - wait til your hands are trembling and your eyes are shot …
  20. Most of the missing length will be added between the trailing edge of the bonnett and the wheel opening …. And i mite need to add a little shape to the nose - maybe … peice if cake …
