Very nice. I think the Mica red looks great and I like the Rallye wheels. I'm currently building the same kit as a 4-dr sedan. Nice to have a completed model to look at..

After adding some styrene strips, filing and Tamiya putty it's starting to look like a Chevelle again. I rounded the upper corners of the back glass opening. I also raised the windshield opening as the Lindberg windshield looked too small compared to 1:1 photos.

Well done. The outside photos could be a real car!

Nicely done!

Awesome! Thanks

First test of the roof section on the '66 and it was too high in the front. I made a few pie cuts in the C-pillar to lower it. There are some other changes needed to the C-pillar so I'm not too concerned about body work on it right now. The second fit is much better. Now it needs to be lowered just a bit in the rear. Should be easy enough to do by incrementally shortening the distance between the C-pillar and the trunk lid.

Well done. Love the color!

It was a sand color from the factory. When I got it, it had spots of gray and red primer. Later on, I painted the body red and left the top tan. I still haven't decided which way it'll go.

Next up is a model of my 1:1 Chevelle Model 300 4-door sedan, which I bought from a farmer's widow around 1978. It was stored in a chicken coop, and not matter how much soap and air fresheners I used, it always smelled like chicken $#!7. It had a 230 straight six with 2-speed Powerglide, and manual everything else. Other than needing a battery once, it never let me down. I wish I still had it. I'm starting with the Lindberg '66 Hardtop, and using the top from the Revell '65 Chevelle Z-16. You can see the radical difference in the '66 in the foreground. I braced up the inside of the Lindberg before performing surgery. Even though the plastic seems fairly thick, I'm being cautious about warping or breaking the body. A bit of Dymo tape helps me make a straight saw cut on the top of the '65. '65 with the top removed. Do I see a '65 convertible or a phantom hardtop in the future? More to come...

Wow! That kit was probably issued before I was born. Way to make lemonade out of lemons!

Beautiful! I remember building that when it first came out. It's a great kit and has probably the best 426 hemi in 1:25 scale.

Very nice. Lots of small details everywhere I look. Is it 1/16 scale?

Nicely done. The paint looks great.

It's a beauty. Very clean. Nice work on the paint.

Very nice. I like the stripe work.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support!

Very nice! Love them Mopars.

I sure do wish I still had it. Traded it for a 70 Challenger RT. I had fun with the Challenger but IMO the Chevelle was a much better car.

Very nice!

Apparently AMT reissued the MPC kit with some modifications. The grille in the AMT kit looks like a Monte Carlo. The rear pan is connected to the rear bumper, which I liked. This build is a combination of the best parts from both kits.

I'm calling this one done after a 3 year build. It's a replica of my first car, a '72 Chevelle base model in Ontario Orange. It had a 307 2-bbl, Rallye wheels, and a half-vinyl top. The white side moldings were challenging as I've never done those before. I ended up gluing some styrene strips on with liquid cement, and then carefully taping them with Tamiya tape before shooting the color coat of Testor's enamel with my airbrush. The clear coat is Model Master enamel clear, polished with rubbing compound only. Minimal 3d printed parts on this one, limited to the headrests, outside door handles and air cleaner snorkel. The hood was modified to remove the hood bulge, and then cast in resin (I find that bodywork deteriorates over time and shows seams, etc. while a resin cast is "locked" in time). The grille, front and rear bumpers are also resin. The original rear bumper was so covered in glue that it was unsaveable. The grille in the kit more resembled a Monte Carlo than a Chevelle, so I cloned the grille from another Chevelle. A member of this group donated the wheels several years ago. Thanks! Hope you like it. Questions and comments are always welcome. There is also a build thread in the WIP section.
