  1. I think he is talking about one of these. That is a great idea with a few holes in the bottom so the paint can gas out.
  2. I am with everyone else. The prices are great, but shipping is slow. I use scale hobbiest because of the slow shipping. They are about the same price a ship really quick.
  3. I just got an order last week. It took about 2 weeks from the time I ordered until I received it.
  4. Sorry to hear that. My condolences.
  5. Thanks, I wonder if that may be some of the problem. The base yellow is auto lacquer. I thought the two were ok together as long as they were dry.
  6. I think I am going to stop at the LHS and pick up some lacquer before I redo it.
  7. Yea its enamel. I had a bottle of MM Classic black left over that I figured I would use up. I'll try the clear coat and light coats of the black and hopefully it comes out good..
  8. Thanks guys. I do have some pinstripe tape that I will try and I'll put a mist of clear down before the color. Hopefully this will be the last dip in the pond.. I hate to just paint them black because it will bother the heck out of me knowing they should be the yellow.
  9. I wanted to see if anyone can give me some hints or anything to help with masking of for paint. I am working on a 1970 Buick GSX hood and this will be the third time in the Purple Pond. Originally I thought I would only need to mask off for the hood scoops and the main black on the hood and then use the decal for the center arrow. Then I realized the decal that matched the paint pretty good would not sit down when I tried to apply it. I am running into where the tape does not lift off cleanly so if anyone has any tips I would appreciate it. This time I tried BMF but ran into the same problem as the Tamaiya tape.
  10. I do support my local shop whenever I can, but it is a half hour drive and sometimes it is just not convenient to make the drive.
  11. I always flip between hobbyinc and scale hobbiest. Sometimes hobbyinc is cheaper, but a lot of the times scale hobbiest is a few dollars cheaper.
  12. Very nice classic look..
  13. Great looking Camaro
  14. Great looking build..
  15. Great job..
  16. Yours looks great. I hope mine comes out as good.. I just realized that the front grill is all chrome and it should be the body color around the headlights. Did you tape off or just hand paint?
  17. Fantastic job. There is just so much detail you just keep looking at it.
  18. Another Fotki fan. I never have problems, and for $2.00 a month for 100gb of storage you can't beat it. I know it was great to get free service but everything has to come to an end.
  19. Thanks, I'll have to to get some and try it out because those look great. I tried a white gel pen, but the minute you touch the tire it would pool out.
  20. R Thorne and Liz 62 those are good ideas too. I am going to sit down tomorrow and cut a a few things and see what looks the best. The cork I used almost fell apart when you cut it but a coaster looks like denser cork and a tool box liner might work good too.. With the yellow I figured since I could not get the match I would use something I saw on a Mustang and loved the color..
  21. Great job.. That looks great. How did you do the tire lettering. I always try but mine turn into blobs instead of letters...
