Thanks guys! Thanks! It's a surprisingly nice kit coming from Lindberg. I agree! No more shortcuts as far as making the body look nice for me, lol. -
This looks fantastic!!

Very nicely done! You don't see many of these around, in mini form or 1:1. -
When I finished this one in November of 2020, I was only really semi-happy with it. I loved the color, but the clear I used (Decoart Gloss Varnish) wasn't totally smooth, even after a polish. Regardless, I took the pics and posted the build and back in the box it went like all of my builds. After lots of contemplation, I finally decided to see if I could improve the look by finally giving it the wet-sanding treatment it deserved. I started with the roof, actually dry-sanding it with 2400-8000 grit paper. The results were very promising, so I took to wet-sanding the hood, and then the roof again knowing that If I destroyed the paint job I would either repaint it the same color or a different color with a better clear. So far, so good, so I went to work on the rest of the car after taking it all apart. I did manage to half-destroy a couple of the 442 badge decals, but the improvement in the finish was well worth it. Also while it was apart, I replaced the heater hoses, changed the tires, and added 1/8" styrene tubing painted with Molotow Chrome for the exhaust tips. Thanks for looking!! The last two pics show the difference on the roof.

Very very nice! Can't go wrong with the classic blue with white stripes on a Cobra. I have this kit to do as well, but I'm waiting until I have a place to display it before I build it, lol.

Here's my version of the Monogram '99 Mustang SVT Cobra. The paint is Createx Pearl Blue with Anita's Metallic White painted on stripes. It's cleared with Createx High Gloss Clear. The wheels and tires are 3D printed from Jays Resin Wheels on ebay. The seats and door panels are Apple Barrel Country Gray with Apple Barrel Pewter Gray inserts. The carpet and head liner is Apple Barrel Dark Granite Gray. I used Green Stuff World for the valve covers, air intake plenum, and exhaust, with Tamiya Titanium Gold for the catalytic converters. This is my second build of this kit and it went together as good as the first one, and I had a lot of fun building both of them. Thanks for looking!!
