  1. you may have to search, but this is the first of 6 installments....you tube search
  2. The full story is the CLEAR. I shoot a little Auto Air but the recommended clear is 2 part urethane...Also in the PPG waterless classes, my friend was told about adding cross flow in his downdraft booth as the water flashes so slow you need a heat gun. What is happening with all this you ask...its bs,lies,nonsense.....heard many more...bottom line the EPA is going to try to remove anything solid in the air......
  3. Most of my friends who worked 3rds made it a rule to spend a bit of time helpin the wife before work, then out to the garage for a couple of hours of fun...shower and off to BED...you gotta set the time, and everyone is diff...think it through as Donn said...Good Luck!
  4. Donn I agree with the lack of quality is getting worse. But I disagree about todays products. My 1:1 painter is from the old school...real paint done by a pro. His jobs use quality materials, the body is sealed before it gets messed with, and as you does it with a proven method. He will shoot most anything, but shoots more HOK than I have ever seen. Point is the products today are many times better than the good olde days...the DOWNSIDE is paint prices...I suspect thanks to the EPA waterborne will be the wave to come....just think NO MORE LACQUERS......or enamels due to VOC's I must admit though the days of the garage show winner are long gone
  5. One HOK trick is to buy the paint non-reduced.....Yes you will need to reduce it, so pick up a quart of the proper speed reducer and now your savings will add up more as reduced and non reduced sell for the SAME price and reducer is a lot cheaper than paint! I think that came from the good DR Cranky !
  6. Yup....and where in So FL are you?
  7. I like to use a longer lens, I will shoot from 1/2 ' to 10 feet Try a 200 to 300 mm lens, with an extension tube....the lens compression will help fooling your perspective.
  8. Great Job......Love the pearl!....glad I saw this.....looks like I need a shave on mine! I thought the bumper wrapped more.
  9. sweet!!!
  10. Upper right under your log in name click "settings" on the drop down menu, look for manage attachments...click on what you want to delete, then click delete
  11. Very Impressive...and your first chop ???? I don't think I would have, but you nailed it...lines all look good, and the flurry of cuts....It works well if you have a plan and follow thrueven with " jiggery-pokery" !!! The Caddy should fit fine, take your time on the exhaust....NOW HURRY UP MAN !!!! :D
  12. The metalizer with sealer or dullkote..looks much better
  13. I think you will like this one Doc... Not sure about this one.....
  14. RHD....Doesn't look British.....
  15. Lacquer or enamel ? Airbrush or rattlecan ? I shoot lacquers and 3 hours at 105 with a half hour to cool...then tape and reshoot. 6 coats sounds like a lot, but not really....I shoot 15 or more layers inc primer and clear....just keep it thin!
  16. solvent weld a small scrap in the gap..sand smooth
  17. Most important is pulling the tape when the second color is still tacky, always pull the tape back over itself . Doing both of these will allow the edge to fall flat (minor ridge) and no lifting or cracking
  18. Loooked at you stock green 53....I liked it THEN THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!
  19. OH POO!! I am working on the 48 Ford and then the 53 Hudson is up...looks like I will miss this year
  20. When you alter the digital image you also change the "metadata"..I suspect the judges have a hint or two....
  21. I guess I missed the point then So I pulled the Playing out of the thread. What I did was show that you can't always get everything out of the camera..sometimes its after the shot.
  22. And a mild chop with that slammed frame....R&M makes a resin cab already chopped and smooth, I got it for $15.00 lower right
  23. I like what you have for your first build. There are a couple of ways to lower that kit...traditional reverse axle and springs, both front and rear..use a dropped axle up front. The other way is to trash the original front and rear suspension and motor, while your cutting. Heres an idea ....A few Z06 parts....
  24. PM sent...As these are handmade the two shown are different builds.
