SWEET!!!! If this is your first time shaving a plastic body...you need to know about ghosting. this is when you paint it and all those details you removed seem to reappear!!! To eliminate this there are a couple of tricks that some builders use. 1) liquid cement...(I don't use this) 2) Future Read Bill Gearys tutorial the second link takes you there! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry207575 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...st&p=214314
  4. Then you need a flattie....I stole one from the '32 sedan.....fits great...looks better!!!!!
  5. Got It!!!!! WOW...hope the next 10 are as great as the last few issues.Great job HARRY ...Thanks GREGG for gettin Harry!!!
  6. Sponsors are OK....in ALMS a lot of teams owners company pours a lot of $$$ into the team and the hospitality tent is well stocked
  7. Practice..... Thats the most important thing about your new tool. As for what to spray to practice?? The "experts" told me to use Ink...it worked perfectly to learn what my airbrush could do...lines, dots, circles...etc. What it did NOT teach me was how to spray plastic car bodies. So my advice is get a couple of kits cheap...parts missing or damaged will work. then get some of the paints you want to use.Tell us what you got and we will tell you what you need to do...prime, color, clear, thinner? cleanup? After you get the rough idea then you start the real practice...and 20 years from now you will still be practicing...constantly learning new ideas and techniques PS ditch the latex unless you're painting a dollhouse
  8. I'm sorry for makin you get up soooo early!!!

  14. As I shoot lacquers as my color and clear I use tamiya acrylics thinned with x20a in a 9 or 10 part thinner to 1 part paint ratio. a 20 to 1 mix will work but you will need a bunch of coats....really depends what look you want...
  15. Happy Happy...you young stud!!!
  16. I've used it a lot and if you freeze it and GENTLY flex things you can usually pop it off. If its on thick stick a pick it it and lightly pop it off... heat will not get it all off and you end up melting things...been there, done that!!
  17. After spending 40 + in Beertown I used to think you needed snow!!! As far as humidity here you must paint in A/C controlled areas or no painting year round. I have my daughter going to school in Philly and it gets waaay too cold there no thank you!..Anyone can play in my shop...but ya gotta bring some toys!!!
  18. It just stinks...I never get to meet any of my idolized peers..like Bill. But y'now I am here in paradise and when the snow is 18" and still coming down Then I remember why I'm here. So as a result we don't do NNL or anything down here in the Fort Myers area....but it is a great vacation area so come on down!!!
