Thanks for the post. We have some new people pitching in for the show this year. But sleep well knowing that everything is covered!

My girlfriend's cats will be turning 2 on September 21st. The first 3 are Bleu, she's on the skittish side. The rest are Brie, a very friendly little cat.

52 F, lower humidity. I guess we got at least 1.5" of rain. It did rain most of Sunday.

Friendly loveable Squirrels..
bobss396 replied to A modeler named mike's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Well.. I came across a mummified squirrel while I was cleaning out a corner of my garage on Saturday. It must have ventured in when the door was open and got stranded. I never smelled anything however. -

Ordering From Overseas Still?

I buy a lot on eBay and set a filter for US sales only. I will buy from trusted Canadian vendors. -
I am hard to scam since I'm "thrifty" by nature. I also have severe PTSD about email from my working days. I can go weeks without even glancing at it.

73 F, 99% humidity and looks like rain. I got some gardening done. Planted cabbage and broccoli seeds. The pool is or was up to 76 yesterday.

I had a problem with having to open the holes on the Ron Coon pieces. I lost a few even being careful. Jayes Model Car Garage has some that take a wire very easily. -
New ATM ripoff trick: the hits just keep on comin', folks!!
bobss396 replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I get a ton of calls from "health care providers" regarding "free" back braces and so on. My Medicare info must have been hacked into or sold. I generally answer in Spanish and the line goes <CLICK>, with a 99% accuracy. -
SOSDD here on the Island. 56 F and less humid, rain predicted for tonight. Me & the girlfriend are going to have breakfast on the beach around 10. It will be warmer by then. I picked up some seeds yesterday, lettuce, broccoli and cilantro. I have to till one of my smaller plots either later or tomorrow.

Slightly older Novas were 110", I recall this from my racing days. The minimum WB was 108", which excluded cars like the Mustangs from the class I ran. -

I use only one ATM that is inside a busy supermarket. I look it over first, then use it. -
I want one, are they still available? The business sedan is body style 70D. The Custom 300 is body style 64F.

I use .020" brass wire and picked up some 1/32" stainless steel pins from McMaster Carr. In 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" lengths. They used to carry brass pins some years ago.

55 F and it did finally rain on Thursday night. Pool is cooling off, it was 73 yesterday.

We had a local junkyard that had one they used to deliver parts.

Tips on using nail polish as paint on models
bobss396 replied to PXRR-7's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have used it a few times. I find that 2 bottles will do it. I'll mix those with 1 bottle of thinner, I like Mr. Color thinner best. You'll have to make multiple passes, like 8 or more to build the color. Alternate by 90 degrees to avoid zebra stripes. It flashes over quickly, so coats can be laid down in 10 to 15 minutes. -
An unseasonably cool 53 F. I may have to wear pants when I go to town.

'63 Vette NASCAR Modified WIP
bobss396 replied to bobss396's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
I ran into body-fit issues. The cowl and hood needed clearance to get around the distributor and breather. Also the paint was flawed badly. This is the first time struggling with the Extreme Lacquers. Yesterday I sanded the bad areas on the body all the way to 2400 grit. This time the paint looks great. I'm not going with clear. Decals are next. -

bobss396 replied to fiatboy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I built a '40 Ford and a '52 Chevy Pyro as a kid. Bodies were multi part, tires molded from whatever color the body was. -

Look into gluing tabs to the bumper if it can't be pinned. You may need to add a location feature inside the body.
