Wow. I didn't know they allowed you modeling tools in an asylum. Too crazy small for me. -
Where's this Gem?
Jantrix replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree. This would be a smash hit on the shelves. Round2 took time to reverse engineer the extra custom goodies for the '53 pickup, I'd love for them to do the same here. -
Thanks Kurt. Well I took a day off and the family is leaving me alone sooooooo.........Painting has begun. I'll be adding washes hear and there.

The window is framed out. I have glass and will be putting a photo behind it. It's time to start painting!

Thanks guys. This will be a long term project. A break from working on cars. My issue right now is the design of the door. Working in it. I did something very simple for the floor. Grey primer over two comic book backer boards. It's just thick poster board really. But with a light coat its mottles very nicely. I'll add patina as I go. I still need to figure out what car goes in it. Hot rod or muscle car? Something completed or do a work in progress with chassis on one side, body on the other? I have a few options, but I'm leaning toward an AMT '63 Shelby Cobra.

Poll : AMT '40 Ford or newer Revell ?
Jantrix replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My son built the Revell Goodguys version. As I recall his only issue was the tires hitting the fenders. -
I think you've really nailed this. Great color choices. The right tires to go along with the hemi power plant. It's got a good stance and looks authentic. Nice work..

What's next in the Revell '32 Ford line ?

I can't find any info on it. Maybe it's a custom one off. -
Createx for an airbrush newbie?

Thanks Gabriel. Do you use their Illustration base for the thinning? -
1969 Plymouth GTX pro touring/drift car? (Engine mockup)
Jantrix replied to 426 pack's topic in WIP: Model Cars
If you are going to add fender flares, go ahead and open the wheel wells. If not, leave as is. Striping that old paint would be a great idea before you start. -

Favorite Revell '32 Ford

I'm gonna say sedan simply because I love that flathead, but I love them all and how interchangeable parts are. -
Just Krylon flat black. Thanks Jeremy.

Sorry to be absent so long long. As the CBP originator its kinda bad form to start it and then bail, but building time is at a premium of late. The Catalina is painted. For fast builds, flat paint is my go-to. After a couple of days, I'll hit it with a dullcoat and start the foiling.

AND I"M BACK! The chassis issue that has sidetracked my Charger has been sorted with a minimum of fuss. No visible changes that need pics yet, but soon!

Okay, this Fathers Day was good to me. A compressor and some of the Createx Wicked Colors. http://createxcolors.com/wicked-airbrush-colors/index.html Any advice for the airbrush newbie on these? Thinning? Pressure? I'm using a Badger double action. Thanks in advance.

Or use Mikes technique with a little dirt colored spray paint.

Welcome. I've added you to the roster.

Purple Pond Surprise!
Jantrix replied to shoopdog's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I gotta disagree here. This stuff does evaporate. So buying a better Tupperware type container at the local supermarket, is a better bet as they seal tighter. -
What a groovy little model. I like it. I think maybe I've found my next Cannonball racer.

Very impressive. -
Agreed. One of the holes will house the switch for the light.

I hear ya. Right now, slump or no my model time has taken a serious hit lately because we've moved to a place where I actually want to go out and do things outdoors. Plus my wife works third shift and sleeps during the day. My work bench is in the bedroom.
