  1. Nice work Rom.
  2. Thanks guys, white primer it is then.
  3. What undercoat have you had best results? I just shot it over silver and im not impresssed. White primer maybe. Anything darker and im afraid of it showing around edges and raised detail. Also at least over silver indoors its just not that impressive. In the sun though it really pops. How have you used this paint to best effect? Pics helpful.
  4. You got that right. I borrowed a tranquilizer gun from a veterinarian friend so now I don't have to wait until night time. Of course my wife isn't real happy when she wakes up and figuring the correct dosage of horse tranquilizer was real tricky.
  5. I see some of the issues you're probably irritated by and I would call them just .... learning for next time. From a design stand point, I think you absolutely hit a home run. I've never seen one done like this. It is VERY original and inspiring. I guarantee people are seeing this and looking at their stash for something similar. I'd like to see you do a couple more builds to clear the cobwebs and then revisit the idea and give it another try, with all the new skills and the lessons you learned from this. In my book brother, originality counts and I like it.
  6. Some VERY COOL work going one here! Love it all.
  7. Also to protect the plastic, cover all plastic you aren't going to cut with masking tape. This will also help you amrk what material needs to be removed.
  8. Jason, those are all great thanks for sharing them. Are you going to build something to join us?
  9. Yeah, I'm digging it. Keep on.
  10. Try just hitting that silver with some dull coat.
  11. Don't feel bad. There was a fella that started a CBP for any non-straight line race cars, past, present, future. It didn't get past five pages before it died off. The more specific a CBP's focus, the less interest it seems to get.
  12. I keep it pretty clean because losing parts in clutter is a royal pain. What I do have to go through is the EXTRA STUFF bin a couple times a year. Any left over parts from kits or my own spares that were pulled from the spare parts drawer but not used, go in the EXTRA STUFF bin. After a while this one gets out of control and the parts need to be separated into their proper drawer.
  13. I thought so too, but the valve covers look very modern.
  14. Okay, how about a father-son project? He's not a member here but he does build. We've been chewing on a collaboration for a while.
  15. I have the Revell '41 Willys street rod, the Goodguys version. Exactly what engine is supposed to be represented here? Hemi heads but the distributor is in the back ? I'm confuzzled.
  16. I do like that Datsun! Very cool.
  17. More pics of both please Kyle. I like what I see. I wish we'd gotten the WIP pics.
  18. Oh yeah. My mistake. However if it saves one person from enduring the same waste of time, it'll be worth it.
  19. Micro - Michael Crichton. His last book co-written by someone else after his passing. A huge disappointment. I don't think he's had an original idea since the first Jurassic Park novel.
  20. It looks smaller thasn it is. It's about the size of a 55-57 TBird.
  21. Yeah, I saw that in Hot Rod too. It's been cut 95 ways from Sunday, and it is very impressive.
  22. Mods, you might want to consider locking this thread so we don't have people getting confuzzled by two Post-Apoc CBPs.
  23. 1. Any motor would be fine. Just make it look old & dirty. 2. Sleeping bags are usually rolled. 3. Imagine you are on a camping trip for the rest of your life. Whatever junk you would have during a camping trip applies. Plus extra water/fuel/weapons. Try this site. http://www.madmaxmodels.com/home2.html
  24. Wow. You really batted this one out of the park. I know the 1:1 you patterned it after and you really did a great job with it. My favorite detail is the tail lights. Most people in scale or 1:1 ditch the stock tail light mounts but you embraced it and made it cool. Well done sir!
