  1. I really like where your going here. Keep it up.
  2. Very cool stuff. I'm not a truck guy but that might be kinda fun to build.
  3. Ah yes, if that was indeed a transmission it would look upside down. However that is actually a Kenser kinetic motion transfer unit attached to a Bronlin hydrogen powered motor, capable of over 2100 miles of travel, at speeds up to 200 mph, on a single fill up. But I can see why you'd make that mistake.
  4. A couple changes to what I have named the Puma ATRV (All Terrain Recon Vehicle), added the roll bar and changed the motor mounts. I'm working on some of the front skins and working out the interior/windshield. I have figured out the weaponry. As this will be a scout vehicle, the weapons will be mostly concerned with what is beside and to the rear of the vehicle. So behind the engine area will be mounted a gimballed .50 caliber machine gun which will be fired remotely by the co-pilot via a slaved camera system and computer monitor in the dash. I'll scratch a fighter jet style control stick to move the gun remotely.
  5. Aside from two or three trips to local model shows/contests, the same goes for me.
  6. I have used the salt technique using rattle cans. It's a little more difficult, but it can be done. This was done with Krylon red oxide primer, dark blue and avacado green. I used several washes afterward using acrylic craft paints as well as matte clear on the shiny bits.
  7. 14 posts and he's complaining already. *sigh* Go build something.
  8. I was thnking the Aurora Mod Squad 51 Merc Woody. I have seen two or three pop up on Ebay, but I have never seen one show up on any forum as a WIP.
  9. Ya know Monty, I'll be darned if I can find a single pic of something I painted semi-gloss that hasn't been weathered in some way. Sorry. And I usually use the indoor/outdoor stuff with Krylon primers. I've used the Fusions, but not black yet.
  10. I think I want one.
  11. You can keep adding cool stuff Darren, but someday your gonna actauly paint this for us!
  12. Rylan, I really like where you are with that truck. Given any thought to mounting that gun behind the cab, or over it, mounted in the bed? It looks seriously too heavy for the truck top.
  13. I've used Krylon semi-gloss successfully for a long while.
  14. Hey guys I just got an idea someone might like. I'm sure many of you aren't old enough to remember a manual or reel(non-engine powered) lawn mover, but you can probably Google a picture of one. Think of six revolving blades cutting grass against a fixed edge. And since we're supposed to be mowing down zombies.................... It doesn't fit in with my build, but if someone else wants to give t a try, that might look wicked on a larger scale in the front of a vehicle, chain driven perhaps?
  15. Okay, I really try to not to be critical but this has me flamboozeled. You obviously took a lot of care and ended up with what appears to be a very solid paint job, got the correct shades and technique to realistically paint the wood grain (not easy) and THEN DIDN"T MASK OFF WHEN PAINTING THE BED RAILS!!!!!! What gives?? I need a headbangingdesk emoticon here.
  16. I don't think you will find very many here with that perspective. This is a builders forum.
  17. Cookie for you! I've wanted to build something like it ever since I saw this film.
  18. Some update pics. Note- for those of you that are puzzled by the drive train. I am not an engineer and have no idea if this is even possible. Yes the engine looks upside down because it is. I'm looking for something futuristic and out-of-the-ordinary. The suspension will be a double A-arm in all four corners, each with it's own drive axle. Here is my inspiration. The first person that can ID this vehicle gets a cookie. Here's my update.
  19. My '37 Chev and Cherry 2K Mustang.
  20. Okay Virgil, I'm in. The cutting started tonight. Don't ask what it's gonna be, I'm not sure yet myself. We'll likely find out together, but I'm planning a futuristic military scout vehicle.
  21. Thanks August. I'm still in the planning stages. This one will reqire some drawing and some research. I bought a set of these on ebay. Couldn't beat the price. Check it out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Interco-TrXus-MT-Tires-W-Weld-Bead-Lock-Wheels-Revell-G-/150738549226?_trksid=p3286.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5740769173270797491
  22. Blaze, Facebook links do not work here. Please get a free Photobucket account and post your work there. This will make linking your work much easier. I've never built that kit, but I have heard it's quite good. Enjoy.
  23. There are two sister IPMS clubs in Jacksonville. They put on a big show in February every year. A good bunch of guys. Shoot me an email at jantrix_too@yahoo.com and I'll give you the email addy of the president of one of the clubs and you can figure out which club would suit you geographically.
  24. Okay I know I said I was sitting this one out but.........................dang it Virgil..................I gots an idea. And look what came in the mail today. BTW folks, after contacting the comapny, So Real Concepts replied and stated they are no longer manufacturing their trucks and/or wheel sets due to poor sales, so whatever you find on eBay, is all that's left. I got this set for $6 and change shipped, so get'em while you can. They are some seriously nice wheel/tires though.
