  1. Okay guys, I've heard some gasser types referred to as Street Freaks. What does this moniker assume? That it's a street driven drag car or what? I'd call that AMC Javelin a street freak for sure. I'd be terrified to give that too much gas.
  2. I love what your doing here. I hope you haven't glued those wheel wells in yet. You might find it difficult to put the interior cup in.
  3. Most impressive.
  4. Wow, that's about as nice as it gets. perfect stance, great paint. I love the polished aluminum wheels. Well done.
  5. Yep, you've got my attention. Lead on sir!
  6. MAN! That looks great! Very authentic. I love the 4-banger.
  7. Looks great! I've heard a lot of good things about this kit.
  8. LOL! Virgil your cpap mask doesn't count as steampunk!
  9. It absolutely IS a hemi. A highboy is the style of the vehicle like Sam said. More specifically - a fenderless rod that is sitting on top of the chassis (not channeled).
  10. So far so good. Keep it going Nick.
  11. I gotta say I was a lot like Jim about five years ago. The idea of making a model look bad - on purpose - was absurd to me and I had many forum arguments about the subject. However when I got the idea to build a post-apocalyptic model years ago, I realized it is just as artistic and frankly, requires just as much skill to do well as a shiny paint job. It's also a GREAT change of pace and kinda liberating really.
  12. Yeah, it's not very "traditional", but there is still a lot of cool about it. the interior is probably the "leather everything" variety which is never a bad thing. And honestly the tribal flames aren't very different from the classic seaweed flames we've been seeing for generations. The chop is excellent. 39/40's are notoriously hard to chop well and this one is very cool. This would make a nice model indeed. Utilizing this style, the Revell Goodguys '40 Ford or '41 Willys or the 1/24 Revellogram '37 Ford Coupe or Roadster would look great done this way.
  13. I really like where your going with this. On the third set of pics though, you changed the valve covers. They are on upside down. Chevy big-block valve covers are always four bolts down, three up.
  14. It is a very good looking '39 Ford, but I'm really curious as to why you would call this new? It's very well done and I'd own/drive it in a NY minute, but I don't see anything I would consider new or original.
  15. I'm interested as I have a box stock kit planned, but it will be a while before I start it. Since this is an open-ended CBP, it doesn't matter how many people join now. Josh, if you're building one box stock now, I say do it here for your CBP and people might join when they see your dedication. Box stock is incredibly hard for me. If it's just the wheels, something is gonna get changed. But that in itself makes it a challenge.
  16. Very well done. Fantastic work.
  17. Very cool project. I'll be keeping up with this one.
  18. Hmm.................I'm planning on spending this next year finishing up my WIP's before I start something new. And I'm doing great. And then you go an pull this Virgil. You're really killing me here. You know I dig this stuff. I'll see what i can come up with.
  19. Just this. All in all, I'm pretty happy just getting it accomplished. Since I've dedicated myself to getting all my WIP done before Istart another one, I think 2012 should be better.
  20. Welcome to the forum. The '41 looks great.
  21. I did not know that about Neil Peart. However if he puts even half the dedication into his models that he does his drumming, he must do some amazing work.
