  1. This is , ... interesting ??? I have to follow along , just to see what a Cadillac in space looks like. I was going to suggest you make it a bubble top, but that would leave very little to identify it as a Caddy.
  2. Nice job so far ! I seem to recall that I installed some weights under the pilots floorboards. ( I may be confusing this kit with another airplane.... glue fumes you know ... )
  3. Several years ago a group of scientists conducted a " study " to see how long it takes a housewife to take an egg out of a refrigerator and place it on a counter. After 3 months of study, they concluded that it takes 3 seconds . The cost of the study ( paid for with a government grant) $385,000 That's in 1950s dollars. I could have done it for $5 .
  4. At 200 mph and over, I think just keeping it on the road would break both your arms...

  11. Sorry to respond so late. I don't have any pictures of the last three I built, but I do have a few shots of the one still laying on my bench ... for the last 6 years... And, I had some help .... very little help... Didn't mean to hijack your build thread. I'll go sit in the corner now... and observe from afar.

  15. Many years ago I found a Jo-Han hauling hearse at a swap meet. The guy was asking $75 for it ( A bargain I thought) As I picked it up ro have a look the sound of broken glass caught my attention. I told the seller I wanted to buy it, but I had to open it first. He absolutely refused. He told me if it's opened its no longer "mint". But I'm going to buy it... NOPE!!! Hope others there that day were smart enough to shake the box.
  16. I have built 3 of those kits over the years ( number 4 is in a box of dust on my workbench right now ) I've done the Black version, the Olive drab with White nose version, and even a clear nosed version. ( I don't recall where I came up with research for the clear nosed variant. But I had to scratch build the radar equipment for it. ) I plan on using a photo of my wife as the nose art on the next one. I will be following along as yours progresses... ( is that really a word ??? My spellchecker had a fit with it ...)
  17. Not sure how many weeks we're in that last sentence, but it was too long to read, so I didn't. ( TLDR) ( over a years worth, think I counted 64 weeks. )

  19. Fat isn't a health problem, it's a gravitational disorder.
  20. Years ago ( 1981 ) I decided to call my railroad the " Demon's Hollow & Pacific. ( loosely based on the Southern Pacific, and John Allen's narrow gauge road "Devils Gulch & Hell -N - Gone .) Cutsy name, Yes. But after a few years it did become kinda cringy. A few years after that, I suddenly felt " zen" about the name and now I'm happy that I stuck with it. As a matter of fact, I added a few more " cutsy" roads to the roster. The Wylers Gulch & Wesyern. The Tomahawk Tramway. Attic Lines. ( actually it turned out to be a popular name that I thought I came up with all by myself... not so. I only built one diesel locomotive and three gondolas in my custom paint scheme, that I sold off to a friend back in the 90's. )
  21. I would. L O V E to hear it run.
