Ever go on a Road Trip in a Classic Car?
Little Timmy replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Lots of fond memories driving all over the 11 western states. Never had to worry about somebody dinging my car with there door in a rest area parking lot . Nobody ever parked near me. We had the same effect on campgrounds. We would pull in usually right around sunset, set up camp, and by morning all the campers around us had changed sites or left in the night. I loved that car for 12 years, ... who cares about 10 MPG ... Unless towing something , then it was 4 MPG. ( but she could still shoot down the road at 80MPH like she wasn't towing anything at all . ) -
Just completed a trade with Old Buckaroo. Had a hiccup due to my inability to actually look at the kit I offered up for trade Hopefully, the kit I came up with as second choice was exactly what he wanted. The package of stuff I received was AWESOME ! Thank you Old Buckaroo.

Reality is something that many people interpret to be something very different from what the rest of us on "Earth One" are use to.

Had that happen to my wife's 96 Dodge pick-up. I just bit the bullet and bought a new ignition switch . It came with 2 keys, but the door locks are still set for the old key ... so, yea, I can't lock my doors.

Ok, how about these Two ?

The top part is a prototype for 3-D glasses. The bottom part came from an alien breathing apparatus.

Yea, cats like models too. I won't tell you about the time Edgar ate part of my ships rigging. ( I did get it back , ... sort of...) -

Yea, this has happened to me. Years ago ( 1998 ?) I purchased Seventeen Athern train master locomotives. My plan was to build all 17 that the Southern Pacific had. I had built 3 of them, when I decided that I should also build the only one that the Canadian National had. I had just found the decals I needed ,and had all 17 locomotives , finished and unfinished in the same large box. I have no idea where that box went. Last seen in 2004 ? I have moved 4 times since then ... no box... -
Gunk is a name brand clean-all solvent, not to be confused with generic Wal-mart "Junk" .

On a different planet ( Earth One ) I could be happy, but on "Earth Two" things have taken a turn to the crazy.

The hook is what was used as a door latch on Wild Willys dragster. The other part is a Pontiac supercharger.

I live in Arizona, we don't mess with springing ahead or falling back. But I did sleep in an extra hour this morning . -
Work is overrated and something I could avoid, except my wife keeps buying expensive stuff so I have to continue feeding the economy.

I might have those parts. Let me look. I'm actually at home for a change. I'll be back in a few minutes. -
Could you be a bit more specific ?

Money was something I didn't understand when I was 5 years old, so I got some Green paper and drew my own 5 dollar bills. ( couldn't get any of the stores to accept them though .... guess I forgot to print " legal tender for all debts public and private" ... )

Vice grips have saved me quite a few times In the middle of nowhere Idaho, my radiator in my 1976 Olds cutlass blew apart. ( I didn't know they could actually blow apart, but there it was, one big pile of shrapnel. ) I walked a few miles and actually found an old junkyard. The only car on the lot that had an almost usable radiator was a 1969 buick. I purchased the radiator, and walked back to my car. The "new to me " radiator didn't have a separate hose mounting for my cars heater. So I took the hose that went from my heater to the radiator, and clamped it off using a pair of vice grips ... then drove the 300 miles home. I also had a Honda 350 motorcycle that I used a pair of vice grips as a gear shift lever. Drove it that way for 2 or 3 years.
