  1. A little more info-from the net. This is the dealership I remember seeing when I was visiting my grandparents every summer. They lived in Maspeth. They also did GTO's and some big body Pontiacs.Quite a site for a car crazed yute from the sticks of Long Island. "Myrtl Motors Corp. was located at 61-20 Fresh Pond Rd., Maspeth, NY. Myrtle Motors was also in the business of “tweaking” Pontiacs for customer enjoyment, just like Royal Pontiac. Although they never garnered the attention Royal Pontiac did, Myrtle Motors built some very stout cars. The mods performed by Myrtle Motors to the 428 powered Firebird were almost identical to the famous Royal Bobcat package. The cost ranged from $2,781.00 to $5,149.74. Myrtl also modified GTOs.) 1968 Firebird 428 TH-400, 3.90 posi-Traction 12.55 @ 110 mph Addtl times: 0-30 mph : 3.0 sec, 0-60 mph : 4.9 sec Options: PB, P/S Wt : 3800 (curb) Magazine : PHR (9/68) Notes: This was Myrtle Motors conversion car. Myrtle Motors was also in the business of “tweaking” Pontiacs for customer enjoyment, just like Royal Pontiac. Although they never garnered the attention Royal Pontiac did, Myrtle Motors built some very stout cars. The mods performed by Myrtle Motors to this 428 powered Firebird were almost identical to the famous Royal Bobcat kit (level 2). Car had Ram Air. On stock F70-14 tires, the car ran 13.90 with severe tire spin. The car had 428 emblems on the hood, but for some odd reason, a 400 emblem on the trunk lid." https://firstgenfirebirds.wordpress.com/dealer-modified-special-edition-early-firebirds/ https://myclassicgarage.com/social/posts/116567-forgotten-myrtle-motors-428-firebirds
  2. Thanks fomocomav, very informative. I knew the interior wasn't stock but I never really considered all those other details. Also like that "Lively Set" Turbine car build.
  3. I remember Myrtle Motors Pontiac out of Queens, New York. They did 428 Firebirds.
  4. Nice job on the Landau Ron. Sleek yet elegant, just as the 1:1s were. I see that some folks here don't like the kit and/or the decals and that's OK, everyone has their opinion and I respect that. I like all T-Birds, no matter the year and am glad to have this kit. The decals? well I doubt I'll be using them on it.
  5. Excellent, objective review. Very helpful. Thank you.
  6. Good job!
  7. Thanks, no. Just what you see there.
  8. Yes they do. Thanks Hector,
  9. I recently got this grail of mine in a trade. I know it's an old kit but I thought I'd share what's in the box in case anyone is interested in getting one.....they ain't cheap. My plan is to build either a "street freak" straight axle gasser style or a stock Grabber. Looks like this one is missing the wheel backs. No problem there and this resin Grabber hood that came with it more than makes up for them!
  10. No extra parts in this one, stock only.
  11. Looks like the bill board decals will fit the side panels nicely. A quick measurement shows them to be about 3/16" smaller H X W than the border of the panel.
  12. LOL me too. R2 definitely has my attention with the new Retro Deluxe series.
  13. Agree on all counts. Not 100% sure on the fit of the decals, I'll check that a little later and post up more pics.
  14. I got roped into this one with the optional decal call out on the box and they don't disappoint. I like T's anyway and this is a good addition to the collection. I like the rubber tires.
  15. Any kit is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That said, besides being rare that 'Bird kit is kind of cool now because of it's uniqueness . I've never seen one. Good pick.
  16. Picked this one up today. I like it. Would have liked the white wall Supreme tires though. This one goes close to the top of the "to build" list for me. Here's what's in the box. Groovy man
  17. Thank you Dave. You woke up a lot of snoring old guys(like myself) and started the "retro reissue" trend. Thank you again.
  18. WOW! Sharp build up. Thanks for adding it to this thread. Any plans for rear fender skirts for it?
  19. Very sharp build, excellent details. Well done.
  20. Thanks!
  21. Great job on the wood, looks real.
  22. Outstanding. I like how you lowered it.
  23. Nice conversion. looks great.
