  1. Agreed, some would see them that way yet to some others(myself included) they were quite stylish and sporty for the time.
  2. Murphy's Law Of Modeling: "You can have 2,000 kits but your next great idea will involve kits you do not own!" Exactly. That happens a lot around here!
  3. I am. I'm also 60 and you nailed my philosophy now too. Just going for an overall "look". I enjoy vintage built up restorations and simple vintage box art builds.
  4. Any combination of Testor's Metallizer paints should get you there. Experiment.
  5. She looks to be dressed very modestly. I'll call her Deb.
  6. Very nice. Great color choices and overall look. It all works. Well done!
  7. With both 'Starsky and Hutch' and 'The Dukes' being properties of Warner Bros., perhaps they've run into yet another licensing snag? By pass the licensing issue and just release it as a stock Torino. I could care less about Starsky and Hutch, but I love the Torino. As far as whether Revell should bring out a '57 Ranchereo? Of course they should! Revell is run by a bunch of idiots if they don't see the money making potential in that one. And I'm pretty sure Revell is not run by idiots. (But, I've been to be wrong before!) Scott Agreed. The S & H tie in is not what would motivate me to buy this kit at all. Even though not my favorite year Torino I'll still buy at least one, S & H or not.
  8. I found this neatly folded in a box of vintage parts I picked up a while back. I wonder if our young engineer was designing his entry for this contest?
  9. Great work. You created a classic! It seems to always enhance any discussion of the Un T. Thanks.
  10. No problems here. Thanks for "maintaining" this forum.
  11. Not an expert but for the coupe in original issue I've had black, gray, light blue and tan. For the sedan I've had black and gray. There might be others.
  12. 1972 Olds Vista Cruiser. We had one of these in the mid 70's. I was a great car and I do miss it. I'd like to have one in kit form. Possibly based on the 442 kit?
  13. Thanks for that advise. I just posted the image because of the cool box art eye candy. I'll keep your critique in mind though if I ever want to build a 32nd scale 'Bird.
  14. Cool. I always thought it would be great if Revell would reissue this kit in original form with all new parts to Build a "Little Drag" and "Little Rod".
  15. I was wondering that too when I opened mine. Looks like part of an inner wheel assembly of some kind?
  16. A 58 Bermuda would be cool, based off the Del Rio tool. or a 69 LTD squire based off the Galaxie kit I could go on but these will do for now.
  17. Ok well a 55 or 56 Buick would be great too! I'd vote hands down for the Merc if I had to choose.
  18. Here's an obscure one. No spell check then.
  19. If I read all this right, You say you were compensated missing parts from Revell. That's good service. You say you asked RC2 for a part you broke. Well, might have to jump through a hoop or two. Did you offer to pay for it? At what point does a company's responsibility to the end user resolve itself? I think you're lucky they would even consider replacing your broken part. IMHO. Comparing apples and oranges, at least to me.
  20. I still have a few Speedwagons in my stash from the last issue when they were on clearance. I doubt I'll buy any of the new ones but good to know they'll be out there just in case.
