  1. Hey Rudy, when the weather gets too bad to paint model cars, I switch over to military and Sci-Fi stuff. As long as you can get it out of the can, flat paints always look good!
  2. Looking good, Bill!!
  3. Thanks for the compliments, guys! Hey Randy, who's that in the picture with Chumley? Otis wants to know. Regards,
  4. Nice save, Mark! I had a few several years ago that didn't fair so well through an earthquake. It wasn't much fun just figuring out which parts went with which model... Regards,
  5. Ron, Nice job getting the hood back to a stock configuration! I don't remember the Gran Coupe version of the '70 Barracuda, so it'll be interesting watching this build. Regards,
  6. Kurt, There are certainly no appologies necessary for your work! For a chassis with the primary features molded in, you did a great job of painting and highlighting the details! The dash and the interior look really good, and the paint scheme is perfect for the model. Regards,
  7. Come on guys, I haven't even taken the cellophane off of mine yet... I'll never catch up... That looks really good, Clay! I really like the color. What is it?
  8. Nice stock representation, Ron. If you decide to re-BMF it, try burnishing it with balsa wood before and after you trim it. Regards,
  9. WOW!! That makes me want to get back into building sports cars again! Excellent paint and decal work!! Keep up the good work,
  10. Thanks, Bill!! I'll give it a try on my next custom build. I was a professional bodyman for 10 years, repairing mostly major collision damage, so I've used my fair share of Bondo. I've just never tried this particular product. Regards,
  11. No problem, Drew. Glad to help!
  12. Hey Bill, does the Dynatron Putty-Cote stick to raw plastic, or do you have to prime first?
  13. Though not identical, the instructions from the Detail Master set may help. Regards,
  14. I'll second that!! OMG, what would a Camaro II look like, a Vega on steroids?
  15. Or, a combination of the two... How about "A1 Marine-Grade Steak Sauce, this stuff is guaranteed to get the job done". Or "A1 Marine-Grade Steak Sauce, this stuff is guaranteed to kick some ass".
  16. Yep, I built this one just for the NNL West! Thanks for the compliments and see you there!
  17. Rudy, For small scratches and sink marks, I use BONDO brand glazing and spot putty. It comes in a 4.5oz tube for about $4. When necessary, I thin it with Testors liquid plastic cement, #3502. It is also prone to shrink if you put it on too thick. For any serious filling or shaping, I use a combination of plastic strip and super glue. Good luck,
  18. Now that's funny! But wait, I had a '67 Camaro SS!! I wish I still had that one...
  19. Andy, Be careful not to get the hook stuck on your pole!
  20. Clay, I've also used some inexpensive paint from Ace Hardware. Their "Now" brand. The first coats went on fine and looked good. The stuff even polished out pretty well. The only problem I found was that you COULD NOT recoat it after about 12 hours. If you did, you ended up with a curdled mess that looked like you have sprayed a hot lacquer over enamel. Fortunately, it did not damage the plastic. Good luck,
  21. Yeah, and that'll also help to ensure that you're never invited back!
  22. Thanks, John! You saved me at least one trip to the post office.
  23. Clay, You might try spraying the under-side of the hood or some other inconspicuous place first. Most spray paints are not formulated for plastic, and can really make a mess of the plastic surface if they're too "hot". Some of them will actually mottle the surface of the plastic...and that's not something that can be fixed by stripping the paint. You need to find a source for the Testors lacquer spray paints. They are amazingly easy to use and the results are great. Let me know if you don't have a local source and I'll look into sending you some. I'm not sure, but I think that that postal service forbids the shipment of spray cans through the mail. Regards,
  24. Yeah, I know...I either need to start selling more of mine, move my modeling stuff to the bonus room upstairs or buy a bigger house. I have absolutely no more room to display any more models.
  25. Nice job, Jeremy!! Keep up the great work!
