  1. Excellent work so far, the body mods look fantastic and the wheels are a perfect compliment
  2. That's looking fantastic, nice work!
  3. Thanks! Mike, that's one of my few ventures away from the TV/movie genre...I've done one each of the cars my wife and I have driven, with plans for at least a couple more in the future. One of these days... Here are a couple more pics of the truck. It started life as AMT's '60 Chevy Fleetside, updated to a '61 with the MCG photoetch set and with pretty much everything aft of the cab scratchbuilt. Wheels were from a diecast tow truck, and other details like lights and mirrors were from my parts box. Exact details about 1-ton Chevrolet trucks sold and used in 1960s eastern Europe are difficult to find, so I had to make some guesses:
  4. The R34 was a fantastic looking car and your model really does it justice - nice work! Another option you can consider for future window trim is to use a black magic marker. If you get one with a nice sharp tip, you can outline the windows without much risk of hitting the body (and if you do, it polishes off pretty easily)
  5. Thanks, guys! I plan on having her in ground mode only, though the thought of making a flight mode (or convertible - thanks for the suggestion, Brian!) had crossed my mind. I decided in the end that I prefer the "stealth" look, and anyone who looks under the hood or chassis can be surprised.
  6. Thanks, guys! Harry - yup, that's me. IIRC, we traded a lot of pictures in the "Styling Snafus" thread about a million years ago.
  7. Currently I have all of the major assemblies together, and will be adding the rest of the trim and details in the next few days:
  8. One of my current WIPs is Agent Coulson's '62 Corvette "Lola" from the ongoing TV Series Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm using AMT's kit despite its inaccuracies because I already had it in my stash, and with all of the modifications it needed I figure correcting it wouldn't be that much more work. My first steps were to correct the ridiculously undersized headlights and the too-tall front fascia: I then scratchbuilt a new chassis to reflect Lola's flight capabilities: Then the interior was assembled, and the extra panels and late-model shift lever were added:
  9. This is looking great, nice work!
  10. Awesome work, those flames look great!
  11. Nice work, that's a great choice of colors for it!
  12. I've been visiting this forum for years, and countless times have said to myself "I need to finish setting up my account and start posting." I build the same way, having way more ideas and plans than finished models. I generally stick to ~1/24 scale vehicles from pop culture, and always welcome comments, suggestions, and criticisms on my work. Here are a few examples of what I like to build: Furious 6 Dodge Charger Daytona custom Batman Batmobile Ghostbusters 2 Ecto-1A From Russia with Love Chevrolet Riptide Corvette
