Thank for the photo Mike. It looks like handling it did no harm. Not a very chrome look though in my eye. I’ll use it for small stuff like dash knobs and shifter arms, but I will stick to foil where possible and Revell Chrom for larger un-foilable parts.?

Happened across a couple of model kits the other day I did, at the flea market.
-
So…did you happen to get a picture of the seat after handling it? Thanks, Greg.

Easy way to find that lost part in the carpet

Yeah, I’ve spent half an hour looking for a part that took me ten minutes to make.? -
Tomorrow I’ll put off what I told the wife I would do yesterday.

I managed to knock my airbrush out of its holder onto the garage floor…with a full cup of paint.? Luckily it wasn’t damaged, just a bit of a mess to clean up.?

Sought after kits can bring big bucks.

Too bad about the paint…it looked real good from here.? Check the fit of the glass, windshield especially. Some early kits had a really poor fit. -
Looking good…I too like the color.??

Beautiful color!?

Interesting…? do you have a picture of the seat after you handled it? How long was it in the dehydrator?

Thank you all very much for the kind comments gentlemen! And thanks to Jim and Len for their help and encouragement. I gotta say, even though it was aggravating at times, I get as much or more satisfaction in the end from improving a subpar kit than building one that just falls together.?
-
Thanks!? I think it was the ghost of whoever designed this kit.?

Ok. It’s not working again.? I am on an ipad. I can copy the link in the address bar at the top of the page. Then it will not paste into my reply message. I can however paste it into my notepad app. Then, if I re-copy the link from notepad I can paste it into my reply. Other websites I can copy and paste directly to my reply wjndow. It used to be when I pasted a thread link, it would expand into a small image of the thread and ask me if I want only a link instead. Now nothing happens when I select paste.

I’m calling this one done!? I stripped the grills and re-did them using Jim and Len’s foil under paint method. Some demonic entity stole my gas filler cap that I made, so I had to re-do that.? I had the front bumper glued in place before realizing that it sticks way to far out…so I hacked a scale 2-1/2” out of the mounts and pinned them back in place. I also ditched the chunks of kit windows and made them all from some .010” sheet that I have…and added a passenger side window. More pics are under glass here: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/191432-1941-plymouth-amt/

I finally dragged this one kicking and screaming across the finish line.? Paint is Testors Aztek pearl red with Mr. hobby SG clear. Long slow build thread (with a few tangents) here: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/188760-amt-1941-plymouth-coupe/

Never get discouraged if you’re having difficulties with a model…just set it aside for a moment and crack open a fresh kit.

The way things are going the next generation won’t be able to build a model without a 3D printer.?
-
Just checked out their website and I’ll thank you now Daniel…thanks!?
-
I will be there for the first time. Are there any vendors there selling stuff like resin or 3d printed parts and such?
