    A little slow progress on a rainy weekend. I shot some Duplicolor metallic black for carbon fiber parts but had to do it over due to humidity. Thanks to Dann Tier for some help/tips via messaging. Both chassis are at about the same point. I’ve got to admit I bit off too much trying to build both together, but still neat to see two generations coming together at the same time.

    Progress is slow now that it is summer and outdoor activities take most of the free time. Got some suspension work done on the 90’s car and the motor done on the 2000. Also did the roll cage for the latter.

    Interesting. I'll probably pick up another one of these at some point and have another go at it. I wish I had known before I got to that point because I feel like I could have taken steps to mitigate it early on...the old "hindsight is 20/20" thing. I'm glad the yellow turned out as well as it did. Thank you!

    Having wrapped up the AMG GT this evening, I’ll be making better progress on the DTM sisters. Here’s the start of the motor on the 1995 C Class.

    I present to you one of the more frustrating builds I’ve done. I was generally happy with the kit until it was time to fit the rear bumper. Eventually it drained my ability to care and I just wanted out from this kit. On the plus side, it will be in a glass door case and no one has to see the back side.

    I don’t have any pet peeves with this hobby yet. I’ve spent the better part of the last 8 years in the 1:1 VW world and those forums were a nightmare. Complete over the top criticism of everything. “Stance cars are junk. Those wheels are cheap. That makes the car look ricey. Mechanical blow off valves suck.” I’m of the opinion that unless someone is asking for a critique I’ll keep my personal opinion to myself. Honestly I’m glad everyone here is as mellow as they are.

    After seeing this, I snagged a can of Duplicolor metal flake black for upcoming carbon fiber stuff. Thanks for the tip. I know I’ve said this at least a couple times, but, this build is stellar.

    Welcome to the forum. You really can't go wrong with a Tamiya kit. I've had very good success with all that I've built. I'm just starting two Tamiya kits in parallel, they're different generations of the same car. I'll be spending some time in Raleigh Durham in the future. I'm on the design team for the GoTriangle light rail project. I look forward to seeing your city.
