  1. Nice lookin build, Rex! Did you have any trouble with the decals?
  2. Thanks for the heads-up, Dave. In what way were the decals defective?
  3. Very good question, David. I wonder if anyone has tried it?
  4. Thank you for the tip, Rex! I agree.
  5. Thank you for the suggestions, david! I will definitely follow through with and remember them! You can expect more progress pics soon!
  6. Looks awesome!! I’ll definitely be following!
  7. Happy New Year everyone!!!
  8. Now onto the Folger’s GTO This one seemed to be in a lot better condition than the 7/Eleven. The Folger’s GTO is molded in dark red, the 7/Eleven GTO is molded in white. The decals are a little yellowed, but not as much as the other one’s. The clear pieces are not scratched, just dusty. The goal is to have these race cars done by February. I’ll start cleaning them up tonight.
  9. These IMSA Mustangs used to be in my Dad’s collection. They were still sealed, but look like they’ve been around for a while. I’ll start with the 7/Eleven GTO The instructions look nice and simple. Decals are quite yellowed (picture doesn’t do it justice). I’ll leave them on the window sill for a few sunny days. And, the clear pieces (which I found floating around in the box, not on the sprues) are pretty scratched.
  10. Thanks for the pics, Snake! Just curious - what scale is that P-51?
  11. Thank you for the reference pic!
  12. Thank you for the information and link, Bill. I can see the ways dry transfer decals are better than waterslides, as waterslides look like a decal and dry transfers look painted on.
  13. Thank you for the recommendation Patrick. I’ll definitely use this method. I was a little iffy on using the dry transfer decals for that reason - not being able to line them up before application.
  14. I just cleaned it up a bit that way looking at it wouldn’t drive me nuts until I get to it. I do plan on restoring this Mustang one day.
  15. Thanks Randy. I’ll start restoring it soon.
  16. Flipnose ‘57 Chevy gasser
  17. Once I got the layers of dust and experimental decals off, it’s actually in pretty good shape. I think I’m just gonna assemble it and call it complete.
  18. Just got mine in the mail today. I look forward to reading it!
  19. Here it is in pieces Before After
  20. I got this car from my Grandfather, and decided to clean it up a bit. Here it is when I got it
  21. I found this rather dusty NewRay 1:43 scale Mustang diecast.
  22. Apologies. I did not include a year, because year doesn’t matter. As long as It’s a 427 Wedge. No problem Steve! It actually helped me too!
  23. Got the engine block assembled and ready for primer. I’ll straighten out the transmission halves and plan to hand-paint some parts tomorrow.
  24. Thank you for the information Bill, especially the tool tip and technique. I'll make sure to practice on an old junker car and not apply them chimp style
