  1. Thank you very much. Great idea about buffing the clearcoat. I don’t have the resources at this time, though I do plan on buffing it in the future.
  2. I decided to dullcote the interior pieces, so that the decals are sealed. Before: After:
  3. A true Land Yacht...
  4. Got the body clear-coated. Now all that’s left is assembly.
  5. Made a bit more progress on the Eliminator. This was my first attempt at using actual wires for the plug wires instead of thread. The interior is painted, decals applied, and ready for assembly.
  6. If you do decide on getting one, it is a fun build. Thanks, Bill.
  7. The good news: the Eliminator is almost done The bad news: the beard may take a decade to catch up...
  8. Made some more progress on the Eliminator. Next is to finish up the decals, wash the grille, and wire the engine.
  9. Got some plug wire for the Eliminator and some Mustangs from a friend.
  10. As of today, there’s nothing model related on clearance in Chambersburg.
  11. Yikes! I’m sorry to hear that you’re laid up. I wish you a speedy recovery. Glad I could be of inspiration. I’ll keep you updated, for sure.
  12. No problem, Geno! At this point, it looks like it should be done next week.
  13. Not sure how accurate to the real car it is, but I painted mine with Rust-oleum Apple red over white primer. Here are a couple pics in natural light (one in sunlight, one in shade).
  14. Thank you, Rooster!
  15. Got some more painting done today. The only things left to paint/prime are the interior, belt & pulley assembly, and the radiator hose. The last two pics are a quick mock-up of what It’ll look like assembled.
  16. I appreciate the encouragement, Tim
  17. Thanks! I highly recommend it!
  18. Thanks David! The thread method is handy for beginners... like me
  19. Thank you very much AJ! It is a sentimental classic - it had that same “wow” affect on me, too!
  20. Got some painting and priming done today. I put another coat of primer on the hood pieces because I changed the assembly plans after I got it glued together. I was going to make the hood assembly (hood & hood panels) all one piece, but decided to glue the panels to the body.
  21. Whichever you decide, that’s a cool conversion.
  22. This is the method I use since I do not have a paint booth yet. All my parts and paint are kept inside until I’m ready to paint. I painted a body and chassis in 21f degrees the other day without any problems. Then again, humidity was quite low. I second Ray - if you only paint outside and bring the painted items back in, you should be fine. BTW, is that a ‘70 Grande on the left?
  23. Looks awesome Darryl! Great job on the weathering!
  24. You’re welcome. They will look amazing sitting beside each other. Good luck with your search for one - I think Hobby Lobby still carries them.
