As teenagers, my older brother and I did a lot of fun- and action sports, like skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX and stuff like that. We also wanted to go surfing some day, but there are neither beaches nor waves in Cologne, Germany. I always dreamed of having a car, big enough to pack some friends and all our sports utilities, that might bring us to the southwest of Europe to catch some waves. That car would have been a late 50s or early 60s ex-ambulance or hearse with a cosy interior and maybe some extra horsepowers to manage long distances in a short time. Unfortunately, that stayed a dream. But in 2010 I made it come true – at least in scale. I called it „The Coastbuster“ It´s an AMT Ecto-1A kit with all the Ghostbusters stuff left in the box. Interior was made from two Monogram Eldorados with the rear section of the Ecto covered in balsa wood. I scratchbuilt some skateboards, a surfboard, some board-sport-related magazines and some CD-covers. The suspension was lowered and I used Monogram Waverider S-10 wheels and Fujimi low-profile tires. I cut the hood off the body to reveal an Eldorado engine bay and an AMT Corvette LS-1 engine. Tell me the way to the next beach! Greetings from sunny but waveless Cologne, Germany

Nice project! Always wanted to turn the ´48 into a chopped 2-door but I never got to that. Seeing this one, I think I should get started...

Very nice color choice and a very cool trailer! -
In the mid-90s cars built by Boyd Coddington, Troy Trepanier or Posie´s influenced me a lot and I wanted to build a model car that, if it was real, might compete along with them for the Riddler- or America´s Most Beautyful Roadster Award, just like the Predator (Troy) or the Smoothster (Boyd). Testors´ Smoothster kit wasn´t available yet, so I had to start with something else. I took AMT´s ´36 Ford roadster kit, smoothed the body and modified the cowl to fit a Plymouth Prowler snap kit´s inerior and windshield. New door lines were engraved to match the Prowler´s door panels. I molded and reshaped the running boards and widened the rear fenders for the Prowler-weels. Anted Dodge Viper fog lights were frenched into the front fenders. Boyd Coddington used front-wheel-drive engines, placed between the rear wheels in his Aluma Coupe and his RoadStar, which inspired me to do the same with a ´92 Ford Taurus SHO engine. The deck lid was opened and extended and the engine bay was scratchbuilt as wellt the exhaust sytem and floor pan. In 1996, that was my idea of an AMBR-Award contender. What do you think? Hi guys, here is another one of my earlier models, built around ´95/´96: a Revell ´55 Ford Panel Truck. It was the first time I tried to create a unique custom car model by combining parts from several other kits. I lowered the suspension as much as possible and shaved the complete body. The hood peak was extended and I frenched the lower thirds of early ´90s Mustang taillights in the rear, along with a recessed license plate. The grille is scratch built and equipped with a Testors CheZoom grille bar. Wheels and tires came from the Chezoom kit as well. Scratch built hinges enable the hood to tilt forwards and it reveals a wired 5.0 engine from Monogram´s ´55 Pickup. Hope you like it Greetings from Germany

Hi there, today I would like to show you the second model car I ever built. It´s an AMT 40 Ford Coupe that I built in 1994 with box parts only but with a lowered suspension, a shaved body and deleted bumpers. After picking up the hobby again in 2009, I repainted the interior and added some details like rearview mirrors inside and outside and some MCG photo etched parts. I also wired the Nailhed engine and topped it with a custom air cleaner from Lindberg´s 40 Ford kit. Greetings from Germany

Thanks for the feedback, guys! Did not think that a 25-year-old build from a krazy kraut would get that much attention... Will post more stuff soon! Greetings from Germany

Hi there, I´m a newbie here and I want to start to show you my collection with my very first model car ever: A 1934 Ford 2-door sedan (AMT/ertl) which I built in 1993. It used to be yellow back then but in 2010, I repainted it to flat black and added some more detail. The Rod features: - chopped top - shaved body and removed bumpers - lowered suspension - steel wheels with ´36 Ford hubcaps and ´40 Ford beauty rings - wired engine - teardrop taillights Hope you like it Greetings from Cologne, Germany

Hi there from overseas! my name is Olli and I live in Cologne, Germany. I was born in 1978 and I´m a passionate model car builder since the age of 15 (with a few dropout years due to work, marriage and some deseases...). I love to build Hot Rods, Custom Cars, Lowriders and Pro Tourers from mild to wild, nostalgic or modern, made of my own design or scale replicas of legendary cars from the show circuit. I would like to share my work of the past 25 years with you, as well as my upcoming projects... Greetings from Germany keep on glueing!
