I heard rumors of the Eliminator being stolen in 2011, too. But that was mixed up with a story about a ´32 Ford stolen in Indianapolis... -
´33 Ford 3W Coupe - Billy F. Gibbons´ Eliminator
Koellefornia Kid replied to Koellefornia Kid's topic in Model Cars
Thanks for all of your nice comments! It were nearly 25 years between seeing it for the first time and actually having it on my workbench but I had a fun time building the kit! The Eliminator still can be seen. As far as I know, Billy still owns it and it is currently on display at the Cleveland Rock`n´Roll Hall of Fame. Greetings from Germany -

I guess the devil would have a lot of fun with his right foot going down to the floor in his "Right Hand"! Nice Truck! -
I know, this must have been done hundreds of times before but it was this car that dragged me into the world of Hot Rods and Custom Cars, so I just had to build it. I remember, when I was 10 or 11 years old, we were connected to the cable television network. One of the first music videos I ever saw on MTV was ZZ Top´s „Legs“. I instantly fell in love with the Eliminator and even today, ´33/´34 Fords are my favorite Hot Rods. By the way, the Eliminator was my first (and until today only ever) box stock build. With the Eliminator and the previously built Kopperhed I started a collection of famous rod and custom scale rebuilds. To be continued...

I love AMCs. Nicely done!

I tried to chop a ´40 Ford myself years ago but I totally messed it up. This resin body looks very good, might be a Flintstone item. You added a very nice paint job ! I like it!

In 2013, a good friend of mine asked me if I could build a scale model of the „Supernatural“-Impala as a birthday present for his wife. I told him that I have heard of a resin kit of the car and if I would be able to get one, I´ll do it. Unfortunately I was told that the kit was discontinued, very rare and not available anymore. But I was lucky: a fellow modeler from a german forum kindly sold his copy of the kit to me and I fnished it just in time in May 2014 for the birthday in June. Here it is: The resin kit was a transkit and I needed AMT´s ´67 Impala as a donor. The resin body was lacking an engine bay, so it was cut from the AMT body and transplanted into the 4-door. Other than the TV car, the AMT coupe was a Super Sport so I had to eliminate the emblems from the grille and rear panel and I scratch built some bumper guards. The spotlights that came with the transkit were a little bit too bulbous, like Appletons from the 50s, so I swapped them for a pair from AMT´s ´40 Ford. The interior was detailed with some parts related to the TV show. Here is a picture of what was included in the resin kit: I remember, when the kit arrived, my friend was a bit disappointed. He said: „What about the trunk? And all the weaponry in it? That´s the most important feature of the car...“ I said:“Don´t worry, I´ll take care of that!“ I cut out the deck lid. Scratchbuilt a pair of hinges and a trunk and filled it with loads of demon hunting accessories: So that was my short trip into the world of television cars. Hope you like it. Greetings from Germany

Oh... I had plans for something like that, too. Always thought a fastback-Cougar might look cool. Obviously you were faster than me. But it´s good to know that I was right, it looks great! Very nice work!
