  1. SMP 1960 Chevrolet El Camino
  2. I'll be watching for the pic of the wide tires and wide rear axle in place at the same time.
  3. Like the others said: It's a Masterpiece!
  4. 'I suspect the obstacles are the kit is 1/20 scale, it's an obscure subject, and likely wouldn't be a good seller.' I would call it an 'obscure subject' if i was still in knee pants, too.
  5. I suspect that the obstacle to the re-issue of this kit is: Round 2 doesn't know where the tire mold is. The correct, original-issue Firestone tires are in the AMT/ERTL 1998 issue of the Carl Casper Pop Corn Wagon. So there! Let's see the MPC 1967 Turbine Car again.
  6. A pickup truck is much more desirable than the 2 cars listed.
  7. 'The fuel tank was also flat black based and shot with a very light coat of Alclad Polished Aluminum.' The louvered appearance on the bottom of the fuel tank represents a rear-draining semigloss black ABS shield that covers the lower half of the tank, up to the perimeter seam.
  8. Probably sanded the primer down to a layer thin enough for the lacquer solvents in the Dupli-Color to bleed through.
  9. Nice Work on the stretch and everywhere else. Always a thrill to see an obscure (to most of us) subject!
  10. The funny part is: reading remarks from people with poor-to-nonexistent modeling skills picking apart PICTURES of model car kits ( were they ever advertised as miniature replicas? ) that are blown up to 3-5 times their actual size ( hey, i have a 48" monitor, and you don't ) and implying that they have the talent to finish such a 'defective model' to the point where the only apparent defects that are visible in the finished product are the ones that were there when it fell out of the mold. In other words, we have a book of criticisms from people whose skills fail to rise to the perfection that they demand. Gotta be the same crop of complainers who congregate at the local coffee shop every morning.
  11. Good one! But i woulda saved it for April 1. The roof and trunklid mold sections on the first gen MPC Camaros and Firebirds annuals were all Kellered from the same master. And that makes people who never been around injection molds think that there was only one body mold for the 1968 & 1969 Camaros and one for the 1968 & 1969 Firebirds.
  12. I dunno about that. Pretty sure the MPC 1968 Camaro body ended up in the Jeg's 1968 Camaro Super Stocker in 1972 or so. Most of the rest of the 1968 RS/SS396 was carried over to the 1969 Camaro with new sections cut for the interior parts. The 1969 Camaro annual body mold was new steel, not a rework.
  13. obviously, you never noticed the similarity between SBC and 348-409 intake manifolds
  14. Fords are not my favorite manufacturer but IMHO the GT-40 is the most beautiful racing car of all time. I bow down to Hank The Deuce for bringing it to life.
