Seth...you are making very good progress so far. I notice you had a little trouble with the inner door panels and corrected it. So did I. don't worry too much about the exhaust. It snaps into place easily. Just make sure it sits as low as possible near the collectors are at the back of the engine. They could interfere with the body so check it. Wouldn't hurt to sand the bottom of the engine either to make it fit lower in the chassis. I had that problem with other kits like this. Have you figured out what to do with the seats ?

Saw a post on hear a few months back about this kit and knew I had to finish it. This kit was painted before that so it was in the cue to be finished anyway. Color is Tamiya TS-45 Pearl white over white plastic. Cleared with TS-65 pearl and then TS-13 clear. Kit is a curbside and was done mostly box stock with a few additions like, carpet, exhaust tip and a few other mods. Well engineered kit and mostly a joy to build. See captions for more info. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome. Finished kit on its wheels. Decided to use my fall background and a little forced perspective. Chrome trim was the biggest pain on this kit. Hasegawa attached them to the sprues in a lot of places and all those little nubbins had to be trimmed off with a very sharp razor blade. Gluing them on was no easy job either but they all fit in the end. Rear veiw has quite a bit of detail. Instructions called for the use of decals for the logos but Hasegawa also included those cool press on metal stickers...so I went for cool. Don't like front license plates on cars so I found a Penna (which doesn't require them) plate in the stash. And besides..its my home state. Kit wheels steered and were well done. But the wheel wells had to be carved to allow them a decent turnout. With such a well engineered kit how did they goof up on this. BMW put their logos on the front backwards on purpose. That way if you saw one these cars in your rear view mirror you knew you were about to be passed by a 2002 turbo. A little zealous on BMW's part but a cool feature just the same.

Very well done, that kit is a decal challenge to say the least and you nailed it. -
Interesting subject, model is very well done. Renault was imported into this country by American Motors back in the 80's. I owned 3 of them and drove several of these. They were good little cars. Thanks for posting.

Now this really jolts the memory. This was the very first car I owned. And in this color too. The car had its problems and I probably would never own another....but then you always remember your first one. Great looking model by the way and excellent photography.

Seth...on another note...make sure the firewall is all the way way down and snug. Then check fit it with the body. I failed to do this and paid the price. -

Thank you Art. I think you would enjoy this kit and your special touch would make it a beauty. Goforit !! -
Second completion of this year is this Ferrari F430 Challenge in 1/24. Color is MrColor #3 Red with MrColor clear. Kit is almost a curbside with just the top half of the engine showing through the glass. I had painted this kit some time ago and was waiting for space to clear out in the Ferrari case. Relatively simple kit but lots of nice exterior detail. This model represents a specialy built racing version of the F430 to compete in the all Ferrari Challenge series. It may be interesting to note that Ferrari built over 130 of these but fewer than 5o of these cars survive as most were written off. Apparently they race these pretty hard. More details in the captions. Thanks for looking and all comments appreciated. Finished car on its wheels. The rear wing is actually not used on the racing version. It is on the street version. I liked the looks of it so I put it on there anyway. Looks more like a race car. Rear veiw and plenty of detail here. The body wanted to spring up off its mounting posts in the back even though I was careful to make sure all the interior was seated in place. I drilled the posts out and tapped the holes then screwed it in place. You can just see them in the photo in the undertray. Side veiw. Those decals were a little tricky to get right. Anytime you have decals that come to a sharp point its a challenge. A pun on the name of the car. Top view shows the engine detail through the glass. I went out of my way to use a slightly different color red on the valve covers.
