this mustang i peiced together from a body i got from a forum member and a chassis and interior pan seats dash grille headlights tailight panel and front and back peieces the hood is a modified lindberg 71 mustang hood with some extra strips of styrene to widen it to fit the body i added rear bumper fang gaurds to the back bumper like most 73 came with the engine cept the blower hat came from the lindberg 71 mustang kit the blower hat came from my parts box the rear wing is also from my parts box the rims and tires are two different sets the front wheels are the other 2 from the welly custom wheels replacent pack i used the other to for the front wheels on the 71 mustang the rear rims i got from a friend they were bigger then the front wheels and slightly different from the front wheels the reason no underhood pictures was there was to much i had to cut away and leave out to get the engine to fit right and have the hood sit right

it is a nice color i don't generally like brown colored cars but root beer is a cool color as it is a metallic

i based the paint job on this model on the plymouth rts 70 roadrunner show car the only body mod i did that is based on the show car is the grille and headlights it does have a engine but i forgot to paint the molded in battery black and and forgot to paint a couple molded in details and i did not relize i had forgotten till i took the hood off to take pics under the hood i had alot of issues with my painters tape not giving me clean edges where the white and copper meet i masked off the top and bottom halfs of the body before i painted the copper i had to touch up some of the white paint with a brush on both sides of the car i also had a wierd effect happen when i painte the trunk likd spoiler wing with the copper

thank you the back tires look to be the same as the ones with the revell snap tite camaro concept car they have the same tread pattern they were the only ones that fit those rims i know the front ones came with the rims they were from a welly brand custom wheel replacment set i used the other 2 on another build cause they were both the same width depth and hight

this is my take on foose's weird 71 mustang i decided to use tail lights from a amt 67 shelby instead of the first gen camaro tail lights foose chose to use on his i also used some of the silver stripe decals from the same 67 shelby kit and placed them better then the weird connected stripe layout foose did on his i used a lindberg 71 mustang kit since it had the right body shape for the back end the hood is from my parts box i cut it down as best as i could to fit the lindberg body the engine i pulled from another older build as i did not want to use the 67 shelby engine but something that probely would be found in a 71 so i used a 302 i used two different sized modern torque thrust style rims on it so it would have a better stance and they look better then whatever wheels foose chose to use i painted the body and the interior with krylon short cuts antique bronze i sprayed a light misting of rustoleum matte clear over the interior parts to take most of the gloss finish off and hand painted the flat black insets in the center console and seats and that shallow recessed area under the rear window and behind the back seats i am going to guess is the trunk
