  1. Thank you Dave, yes it is an improvement, one step closer.
  2. I really like this car, everything just looks right.
  3. Hi Dave, Welcome aboard, really good to have you and your talents here!
  4. So I've been looking at the windscreen I built for about a week or so and it just wasn't sitting right with me. I decided to make a change, but how to get it off as it was really well attached with cyanoacrylate. I couldn't pry it off without damaging the cowl, and that was a non starter. I had read that acetone would soften the glue after a while, so off to Lowes to buy some. Filled up a glass and dropped in the complete cowl, went back after an hour and no change, but decided to let it go a while longer. Two hours later the windscreen was laying on the bottom of the jar and no trace of the glue remained on either piece, amazing. It really works! This afternoon I built a new windscreen. I am much happier with the look, I also finished assembling the wheels and adding wheel nuts. I had also been putting off drilling holes in Jeff's beautiful wheels for the valve stems. After a couple practice tries on the inside of the wheels I got up the nerve to drill the real holes. The holes are exactly where I wanted them and the drill bit didn't slip so the are no scratches. I'm calling today a win!
  5. Hi Todd So you have decided to come over to the dark side, LOL Welcome my friend and I know this will be a great build based on what I have seen in the past.
  6. I have to completely agree, increadable workmanship throughout! Is there a thread on the M7A?
  7. Simply an amazing project, looking through the photos it's hard not to imagine that this is a model and not the real car. Fantastic!
  8. I agree with AFX, more angle I think will look slightly better, and if possible make the adjustment in the front from a visual perspective. I am not very knowledgeable about these cars regarding wing height above the cage. So more angle but as per the original as to how to get it.
  9. I completely agree, nice job Todd.
  10. The body looks great and will be a solid foundation for this project
  11. Looks like you are off to a good start on this.
  12. I just discovered this post and read the entire thing, The amount of work and fine detailing is mind boggling. I don't build this type of model but I am in awe of the scope of this project and will follow the rest of the process.
  13. I really like what you have done here,
  14. Very nice.
  15. Definitely a seperate assembly and not part of the air cleaner, and it's primary purpose was radio noise interference reduction
  16. Great job and memories, a most worthwhile project.
  17. Very well done, the weathering is first rate.
  18. They look very good, the old school one is especially cool.
  19. Having built one of the larger Billings Boats I can appreciate the effort involved here, well done and a beautiful model.
  20. WOW There is way more to building one of these replicas that I was aware of. Although I'm not a huge fan of these cars this is one model I will follow. Great modeling is great modeling.
  21. Thank you Daniel and I agree. At 215 inches I think this was one of the longest front engine cars Don Long built. The real car has great presence when you get close.
  22. That looks very good, well done.
  23. Completed front axle and wing now the proper color steering rod also in place
