Thanks for the help that has been provided so far to try and do up this decal sheet. I forgot one other decal from the original sheet I don't know about. On the right side is an oval shape with the lettering of "Checkers" and some sort of image. I've never seen a decal like this before, has anyone else? Steve A.

That came out nice Curt. I also did a 1/16th scale one for John Teresi, can't wait to see what he does with it. Also, the 3D files were ones sold by Ron Olsen at 3DModelspecialties. Steve A.

Thanks for the info, I tried looking online, but still haven't found a pic of it yet. I'll have to do some more looking and hopefully find a pic to use. Steve A.

Thanks for the pic, that helps out a lot. Steve A.

Hello, I have an old Revell Parts Pack decal sheet that is missing a couple of decals, but I know what the images are. I'm wanting to try and recreate a new version of this old sheet, but with better images on it. I've found good images of most all the decals on the sheet, but I'm having problems with a couple of them. I'm looking for a good pic of the Shift Master decal, I've found a similar pic that I can probably modify to work, but was hoping to find a better pic. Same with the Deist Dragin Chutes, I found a pic but would like to find a better one if possible. I haven't been able to find a pic of the Mickey Thompson Forged Aluminum Piston decal. There is also a triangle shape decal that I can't make out, it has a figure and looks like it has the first word of "Wedge", but is blurry when I try to zoom in on it. And finally in the last picture attached I can't make out the name to try and do a search. It kind of looks like it starts with a "P" and then looks like the word "Parts" and the last word looks like either "Complete or Obsolete". Any one have an idea what this one is? I'm hoping to have the decal sheet finished up in the near future and have it available to order. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve A.

Nice creativity, detail and weathering. Looks kind of like one of the vehicles in a Mad Max movie. Steve A.

That turned out nice. Was it as challenging as some of the F1 kits you build every so often? Steve A. -
I printed up a 1/16th scale 3D Uncertain-T model for John Teresi, and he was asking me about printing up the trophy that was in the original kit to go along with it. I've looked, and couldn't find any 3D files out there, so was going to try making up the parts to do one. I need to see about getting some basic dimensions from the original Monogram 1/24th scale kit to make up the parts. Would someone happen to have one of the original kits that they can get me some measurements from the trophy parts? Attached is a picture of the trophy from the instruction sheet for reference. I found some 3D files of the winged angel and a globe that I can use, but could use measurements like the height of the angel and diameter of the globe. Thanks. Steve A.

Revell Corvette C5.R Decal Placement
Leo64 replied to Jim B's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Looking online I found a review of a previous version of C5R, and the instructions and decal sheet show 2 carbon fiber decals that I don't see on the decal sheet you posted from your version. So it looks like they removed the decals from the sheet, but forgot to take the decal placement off the instruction sheet. You can probably use tape to make a template and use some carbon fiber decal sheet from someone like Scalemotorsports. I hope this info helps you out. -
Very nice collection, I especially like the Cobra Daytona Coupes. I hope they make it safely through the move. What part of AZ are you moving to? I'm up in northern AZ in Williams. Maybe I'll see you at the next Desert Scale Classic Show. Steve A.

Those all turned out really nice. Now if you want to be a gluten for punishment, there are the Slixx decals to do the AER, Glidden & Royal Oak versions of the Camaros. I did the Royal Oak version for my build a few years ago. Steve A. -

My friend Curt Raitz and myself had all the issues of Motor Racing Replica News, and I scanned them into PDF files. Curt happened to know Mike Quarterman(sp) and got permission from him to sell them on CDs. If you find Curt's profile on here, you can send him a message asking about how to get the CD. On the CD I created one file that has a scan of the cover and table of content of each issue, so you can open that file and look for a certain article, then open the file for that issue. Steve A. -
I use Firefox and found that nothing happens when I try clicking on the messages or notification icons at the top. I have to use Microsoft edge to be able to open them up. Steve A.

I wish I could have helped with some decals, but again you might just check with STS as I've heard they do some nice custom decals. One thing about the truck stripes that I'm not sure if you knew about. In almost all the pics I saw online, they didn't show the hood too well, but I found 2 pics that show it looks like there is some stripes on there. I hope this info helps you out. Steve A.

Hey Phil, I did not get any PM from you, so I just tried sending you one. I hope there isn't an issue with PM with the server maintenance going on. Anyway, hope the PM I sent goes through. Steve A.

Hey Phil, I stopped by my storage and went through a couple of the boxes of models, and got a small sample of some of the models to see if there was anything of interest to you in trade. If nothing catches your eye, just let me know and I'll try looking through a couple more boxes. Steve A.

Robby the Robot

Nice start to the project so far. I don't know if you knew that Jimmy Flintstone offers a resin figure of the female on the box art, and an update pair of legs to match also. https://jimmyflintstonestudios.com/DRF69--Altara_p_690.html https://jimmyflintstonestudios.com/-DRF70--Polarlights-Robby-the-Robot-Legs_p_691.html Steve A. -
My list of "vintage" kits is mostly limited to '70s to '80s kits, but I'll see if I can get a list and maybe some pics of some of the kits in my stash to see if I have something that you might be interested in. Most of my kits are currently in my storage unit, so I'll try to get to them as soon as I can. Steve A.

I've not seen anyone offering those decals, and doing a search for full size trucks during that year I don't think they were a factory option. They were most likely put on by the production company for the show. When I looked up a pic of the old model kit you mentioned, it looks like the decals were different than the truck in the show, and the model kit was a fleetside instead of a stepside bed. Some people have suggested contacting STS Scale Model Decals, as they offer custom decal designs. Looking at pics of the real truck, it might be possible to just mask it off and paint the stripe also. Would take some time to lay it out, but it could be done. Steve A.

purple LED - any such thing?
Leo64 replied to fiatboy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't know if you had any luck finding any purple LEDs, but on a recent video by Doug Whyte on his Model Car Muse Youtube channel, he used some LEDs on a project and they were from a company called Evan Designs: https://evandesigns.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw65-zBhBkEiwAjrqRMLFp4kYZxADKsLDwv9OGSbQ52KOg_HETefwKnPRo9XNXXtp_mmUv0hoCmeIQAvD_BwE Looking on their website they show several of the different size LEDs available in purple. Just thought I would pass the info on in case you were still looking. Steve A. -
I wouldn't mind making a trade for it, but I don't have and promo models in my stash. In kits I have a little bit of everything, is there something in particular you are looking for? So I can see what I might have that would be of interest to you. Steve A.

Basic "modern-ish" stamped steelies?
Leo64 replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I usually find some 3D files on CGTrader or Cults3D website, sometimes for free & sometimes for a low cost. Doing a search on Cults for "Steel Wheel" I found the following 2 that look close to the pic you showed, and both are right are around $2 for the files: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/steel-wheel-06jun-02 https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/steelie-wheel-steel-rim I didn't check the CGTraders website, but image they might have some too. You have some really nice wheels and tires on your website, definitely going to have to see about ordering some. One wheel I have not seen anyone do yet is a Halibrand 4 slot mag wheel like in the attached pic. AMT offered 2 for the rear in their '57 Bel Air kit a long time ago, but they were taken out of later re-issues. Would be nice if someone came up with one to buy. Steve A.
