  1. Thanks for the responses. I happen to come across one of the current owners Facebook page and sent him a message to see if he could help me out. When I messaged him he was going to the Nitro Revival Show at Irwindale Speedway and then was going to to another show at Pomona, and said when he was back home in AZ would get in touch with me. Steve A.
  2. Hello, Would anyone happen to have a good sharp picture of the back area of the Flamin Frank Pedregon Fiat Coupe tribute build that his sons built? I was asked by a friend to see about making up some 1/12th scale decals, and I've found some good pics online showing the lettering on the nose and roof of the car, but the only pics I can find of the back of it aren't clear enough to make out all of the letting. Attached is some of the pics I've found and some of the lettering I've been able to figure out so far. If anyone happens to have a good pic they can share, or any guesses to the rest of the lettering, that would great. Also, on a few of the pics there is a decal on the lower cowl area that I can tell says "Speedsports" on it, but I haven't been able to find a good example of that decal. Has anyone every seen one of these decals before? Thanks for any help with this. Steve A.
  3. SK Decals did several different decal sheets for that model, and you can find some on the Hiroboy website, and might find some on eBay. You might also check out Patto's decals to see if they offer any. Their website can sometimes be a little hard to search through, but they do a lot of decals for race cars.
  4. I've watched the first season of that show, and it was pretty good. I hope you have some luck replicating the car. It is interesting that on the IMCDB website they list the car as a 1974. Steve A
  5. The guy that runs 3D Scale Parts offers a 3D printed body in several scales, including a 1/25th scale one: https://www.3dscaleparts.com/product-page/1-25-uncertain-t-inspired-show-rod-body I saw some of his bodies a few years ago at the NNL West Show, and at the Desert Scale Show, and they looked really nice. I've bought a few of his small parts, and they have all looked really good and no problems getting the parts. Steve A.
  6. Your build turned out really nice Chris. I don't know if you saw the build that Curt Raitz did, but he built his to match the real car. I helped him out with the decals. Curt has built several models of the Kindigit cars, I know he did the 50 Phantom Fleetside, the 55 Nomad and the Galaxie. I can't remember if there was any more. Steve A.
  7. I was really looking forward to being at the show, but unfortunately I can't make it this year. I got pneumonia at the end of February and my doctor recommended that I not attend the show till I can get my immune system boosted back up. My friend Curt Raitz will be there and have a table in the swap meet area. I hope they have a really good turn out and someone takes lots of pics. Hopefully I will be able to make the next show. Steve A.
  8. I'm not sure, I contacted the seller and he said he had the kit for awhile, so it could have just got misplaced. Here is a link to the 3D files of the Warthog I mentioned above. It comes in a 1/16th and 1/32nd scale, but you can adjust it to fit what scale you want or need: https://www.gambody.com/3d-models/warthog-m12b-halo They also offer a pretty nice Maser Chief figure that could be scaled to go along with the Warthog: https://www.gambody.com/3d-models/halo-master-chief A little harder to print at a larger scale, but they also have a D77 Pelican flyer: https://www.gambody.com/3d-models/d77-pelican Steve A.
  9. Nice job. I picked up one of these kits off eBay, but unfortunately when I got it the windshield was missing. So I need to see if I can make one up, or I found a 3D file for sale & maybe scale it and make a vacuform piece. Steve A.
  10. that turned out very nice. For tire decals you might want to check out Indycals, they have a pretty good selection of tire decals. https://www.indycals.net/decals/tires.html I've bought several decal sheets from them, and always had great service and really nice decals. Steve A.
  11. That turned out really nice. I wish a model company would do that car in plastic. Steve A.
  12. Those wheels came out really nice. The SR2 looks good too, it would be nice to see one of the later SR2's with the headrest/fin behind the driver. Steve A.
  13. I thought of something else if you want a challenge instead of painting the Corvette yellow. Scalemotorsports makes a couple of decal sets for the C7R Corvette, and there is a lot of decals to do if you chose to get one. I bought both of his decal sets, and like the trans kit that I almost have done, these two are at about the same stage of completion. Here is the links to the decals from Scalemotorsports: https://scalemotorsport.com/collections/templated-carbon-fiber-decal-sets/products/c7r-full-carbon-jacket-cft https://scalemotorsport.com/collections/camouflage-waterslide-decals/products/pratt-miller-test-mule-full-camo-body-wrap Steve A.
  14. I'm glad I could help you out with this build. Wait till you see some of the other stuff John has been working on. Steve A.
  15. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the show again this year. Steve A.
  16. I bought that conversion kit, and have built most of the model, only have a little bit to do to finish it up. It is a really nice conversion kit, and the instructions they give you give you all the info needed to fit the parts. the only recommendation I would give is after gluing on the front clip piece I would back up the seam with some thin plastic. I had to do a move last year and had the body packed pretty well, but it got bumped or something and it broke apart. If I had backed it up I think it might have held together better. Also, I would test fit the headlight lenses to the body before painting to see if you have the front clip lined up good, so you can make any adjustments. The Indycal decals are really nice to work with too. If you have any other specific questions just ask and I'll try to help you out. Steve A.
  17. Hey Paul, I'm getting by & trying to get used to living in AZ. My knees don't like it too much when the winter snow starts up, and it is tough to do any model painting when it only gets to around mid 30's during the day and down into the low teens at night. Attached is a pic from when the latest storm came through. That's my Explorer outside my bedroom window. I'm hoping to get a work area set up soon so I can get back into building some models. I miss being able to attend the club meeting as there isn't any kind of model scene up in the Williams/Flagstaff area. I hope you will be able to come to the Desert Scale Show, I think you will have a good time. Steve A.
  18. While looking around the internet for drop tanks I came across a website that offers 3D printed different gallon drop tanks in various scale size. The 1/48 scale ones can be found here: https://www.model-monkey.com/aircraft-armor-48 Steve A.
  19. Paul, hopefully we will see you at the show. Curt will be there too, and him & I will have a couple of tables in the swap meet. Steve A.
  20. Someone online was asking about a real one for a replica build he was doing, and one of the suggestions was the hood scoop from a 57 Ford Thunderbird. Looking at pics of real cars it does look kind of close. Maybe you can find a spare hood from one of the AMT 57 or Monogram 56 T Bird kits that were made. Steve A.
  21. I'm looking forward to the show also. I'll have a table selling some kits and some of the decals I've made. Steve A.
  22. Nice job on the fantasy livery. I made some decals up after I saw an image online for one with a Johnny Walker sponsorship. One thing after looking at the pics is I'm wondering if the wheels are on correctly. According to the instructions, they show a front and rear wheel, and the ones I've built didn't have the front wheel & tire sticking that far out of the body. Otherwise it looks really nice. Steve A.
  23. You might want to check out Tamiya's AS-12 Bare Metal Silver. I like it for things like exhausts on cars, haven't tried it on an aircraft yet, but that's what I think it was made for. Steve A.
  24. Norm at Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland has a 1/12th scale motorcycle details carbs air cleaners & fuel shut-off valve set listed as part #RM-127, and one of the air cleaners kind of looks like that one. Here is a link to Craig Stansfield's Fotki album showing the parts: https://public.fotki.com/crstan/replican-and-miniat/replicas-and-miniat/100-3071-jpg.html Steve A.
  25. If you have a way to have a 3D file printed, Ron Olsen has a 1/12th scale Straight Axle file you can buy, and it can be scaled to a different size too. https://3dmodelspecialties.com/products/Straight-axle-p494877867 Steve A.
