  1. My favorite thing is painting, at least when all goes well... My least favorite is a toss up between windows and decals. One big reason why I don't build race cars.
  2. My take on Revell 2010 Shelby. This kit is kinda difficult. Biggest problem was getting the stance correct. There is a design flaw in the chassis/floor pan, namely the rear inner fenders. They were at too much of an angle and the tires would rub on it and not let the suspension tuck up in there like it should. This resulted in my Mustang having a stance more like a Bronco. Not good. I had to cut the inner fenders and stand the inner part up and add a piece of plastic to widen the opening. I didn't make it super pretty since it doesn't show on the finished product. On the front suspension I cut out a coil on the springs and basically made what amounts to drop spindles, kinda quick and dirty. It was a bit disappointing for a modern day tooling, especially for it being a high dollar kit. Other than that everything else was good, went together with little to no fuss. Color is Dupont Chroma base, and PPG clearcoat. A friend of mine was cool enough to give me a bit of that paint he had from when he restored his '71 Torino. I am happy with how it came out, can't find a case to put it in so will likely have to make one. Thanks for lookin'.
  3. Looks great. I'm surprised I haven't seen more of this kit on here. Great job on the engine detail. I can almost hear the valves ticking in it.
  4. I just finished up the '65 long bed, also have '66 shorty in my pile. Pilfered the grille from shorty to make 66 long bed. They both appear to be the same except for grille and bed length. 3 mirror options, 2 transmissions, outer tailgate skins, etc. Nice kit overall, builds up nice. Don't know if this is the right place for this, but would like to give a shout out to Moebius for their customer service. When unpacking the kit I noticed one headlight was missing from sprue. I emailed them with a photo, didn't hear back for about 10 days. Got a reply back, they apologized for the mishap and sent me a replacement part at no charge. Didn't even ask me to cover postage. I would have been willing to since it wasn't really their fault, just one of those things. Can't beat that.
  5. One of my favorite muscle cars. That is some nice foil work.
  6. Moebius '65 Ford longbed. Back in the late 80's a friend of mine picked up a '66 Ford truck painted up like the Italian flag. I think he paid $500 for it ,likely a bit much. It did run and drive. Never did know why it was painted like this, assumed it was a sign for an Italian restaurant. I told him if this truck ever gets kitted I would build it. Here is the actual truck.Anyway, here is my rendition of it. This is my first attempt at weathering on frame and under hood. Hope my post is OK, new to this forum stuff. This is the first Moebius kit I have built. Nice kit overall, fit together good. Comments welcome.
  7. Hello all. I'm Doug, like several of us I started building models a very long time ago. Stopped in late 70's when kits were getting near $5.00 because it was getting entirely too expensive.... Got back into it about 15 yrs. or so ago and have been at it ever since. Been checking out this forum for some time now. I am not a very fast builder, much faster at buying. Kinda new to this forum thing, Have learned a great deal here and look forward to learn more all the time.
