  1. Looks good. You're getting better at these.
  2. Nice tidy build. That color really pops in the sunshine.
  3. Thanks for the positive comments guys. Dave, this is a 125cc Monkey. Honda just came out with this last year I believe. With a price tag of $3,600 I don't see them selling in large numbers. It is a neat bike though. Same engine as a Honda Grom. I remember the old Z50 and Trail 70 and 90. I wanted one but no way mom and pop would let me get one. I likely woulda killed myself on it.
  4. I stood here and looked at this for a half hour tonight. Been working on it for 3 months or so. Just trying to decide my next move on it. Seems like I spend more time contemplating it than actually building it.
  5. The latest from my bench. Started it back in March. I am a slow builder. It did get shelved for a bit after I lost the piece that holds the horn and brake lines. Tried to contact Tamiya, no luck. West coast still closed. So improvised and made it work. I am happy with how it came out. This is the first Tamiya kit I ever built, wont be the last. Very nice kit. Was nice to not have re engineer half of it to make it work. Colors are Model Master stoplight red and Classic White.
  6. That's one you don't see every day. Haven't seen one of these on the road in many years. Good job. Looks like you could drive it away.
  7. Looks good from here. I agree we need more pics.
  8. Looks great. Love the dog yellow tagging the tire. Cool backdrop also. I still haven't got up the nerve to try rusting up a model. One of these days.
  9. That is cool. I agree rear axle is too wide. I have one of these in my pile, might have to try a day cab. Gotta get up the nerve to cut the cab down. If I may say something, it looks like the frame rails need to be cut back pretty much even with the front spring perches. That will make the cab move back a bit and center the steer tires under the wheel arches. It also helps to line up the grille in the cab opening. This is a tricky kit, at least to me. Looks like a fun project.
  10. Looks great. I saw this kit at the hobby shop before they shut the planet down. Gonna have to get one soon.
  11. Perfect. Looks like you could climb in and drive it away.
  12. Nice. Looks like something you would see driving around Denver back in the 60's. I still haven't got up the nerve to try a paint job like that. Great body and paint work. Only thing missing is a chain steering wheel.
  13. Looks great. Did you have to alter anything on the steer axle so the tires sit under the fenders? It seems like most of the AMT truck kits have the tires sticking out too far. I have 3 or 4 of these in the pile waiting for their turn at the bench. I have 2 of the trailer kits also. Hoping to put the 2 together and make a 35 ft. tandem axle out of it. That is all you see out here in the western US. Hopefully I can pull it off.
  14. Right here. These things are hard to get good photos of.
  15. Thanks for all the comments everyone. I went back this morning and brush painted in the panel lines. Much better. Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll start using gray primer on these darker colors, so it won't stand out so much. I thought I had it sanded down well enough since this is the fourth paint job I had to do on it. Every paint job is an experiment. I don't usually have this much trouble. Guess I was overdue lol... Again, thanks for the input on this.
  16. Those were the days. And all for the paltry sum of around $3500 or so. Of course that was a fortune back in '70.
  17. Nice. Nailed the period correct look. Right down to the yellow plug wires. You just weren't cool without them.
  18. Great job. These are nice kits, I just did the 65 long bed a few months back. I know what you mean about the wipers. But I am tickled that they came out with this kit. One of my favorite era of Ford trucks. I have this in the pile and will start on it when I decide what color to make it.
  19. This was a stalled project from a couple years back that I finally broke down and finished up. I wanted it to be Panther Pink but it had a different idea..... After the 3rd wrecked paint job I decided to go with Testors Arctic blue. Not one of my best builds but a good scale 20 footer. Overall happy with it. Don't know what the deal is with these Testors metallic colors, they don't seem to like to cover in the door and trunk lid seams. It's not from a lack of sanding what with it being painted 4 times. Strange it only shows from certain angles. Thinking maybe I shoulda used gray primer instead of white. Would appreciate any thoughts on that. Thanks for lookin'. Doug.
  20. Looks nice and beat. Impressive that you built it in less than a week. It usually takes me 3 or more months to build a truck. I really like the inside the body treatment. Nice job.
  21. I can almost hear it rattling and banging and clanging down the road.. Great work on that.
  22. My favorite thing is painting, at least when all goes well... My least favorite is a toss up between windows and decals. One big reason why I don't build race cars.
  23. My take on Revell 2010 Shelby. This kit is kinda difficult. Biggest problem was getting the stance correct. There is a design flaw in the chassis/floor pan, namely the rear inner fenders. They were at too much of an angle and the tires would rub on it and not let the suspension tuck up in there like it should. This resulted in my Mustang having a stance more like a Bronco. Not good. I had to cut the inner fenders and stand the inner part up and add a piece of plastic to widen the opening. I didn't make it super pretty since it doesn't show on the finished product. On the front suspension I cut out a coil on the springs and basically made what amounts to drop spindles, kinda quick and dirty. It was a bit disappointing for a modern day tooling, especially for it being a high dollar kit. Other than that everything else was good, went together with little to no fuss. Color is Dupont Chroma base, and PPG clearcoat. A friend of mine was cool enough to give me a bit of that paint he had from when he restored his '71 Torino. I am happy with how it came out, can't find a case to put it in so will likely have to make one. Thanks for lookin'.
  24. Looks great. I'm surprised I haven't seen more of this kit on here. Great job on the engine detail. I can almost hear the valves ticking in it.
  25. I just finished up the '65 long bed, also have '66 shorty in my pile. Pilfered the grille from shorty to make 66 long bed. They both appear to be the same except for grille and bed length. 3 mirror options, 2 transmissions, outer tailgate skins, etc. Nice kit overall, builds up nice. Don't know if this is the right place for this, but would like to give a shout out to Moebius for their customer service. When unpacking the kit I noticed one headlight was missing from sprue. I emailed them with a photo, didn't hear back for about 10 days. Got a reply back, they apologized for the mishap and sent me a replacement part at no charge. Didn't even ask me to cover postage. I would have been willing to since it wasn't really their fault, just one of those things. Can't beat that.
