  1. I stopped at the nearest Hobby Lobby today, I always go straight back to the clearance corner. Found a couple cans of Model Master sublime lacquer then saw this paint rack for only $15. Couldn't leave it behind for that cheap. It's in good shape, just needs a good cleaning. I was almost shocked that was no bubble gum stuck to the bottom of the shelves. A good find, just gotta make room for it. Had some spendin' money so went to Hobby town and picked up a couple kits and some tires. I noticed they were down to only one of that 400F. Been wanting it for a while so figured I better get it while I can. Hope it's a good kit. The truck just caught my attention so just picked it up for something different. I looked inside the box and did not realize how small those parts are. Should be an interesting build.
  2. I stopped in my local Hobbytown Friday, they had the Revell paint stocked up in a shiny new rack. I picked up a couple tins and a can of Steel acrylic spray bomb. I'll give it the spoon test next time I get out the airbrush. I wonder if it's relabeled Humbrol paint. Can't wait to try it.
  3. Maybe you could try scotch-bright scuffing pads like they use on 1:1 cars. It should knock the nubs off the rivets without grinding them away. Just a thought.
  4. You could contact Scalefinishes, they would know if its metallic. The Lincoln Mark III was the best looking of all the Marks, its my favorite anyway. Too bad this was never kitted.
  5. That's in great shape especially for a midwest car. I had an 86 G.M several years back, my sister found it at a garage sale, they were giving it away. The motor was blown, but car was in great shape otherwise, except the vinyl top looked like alligator skin. So a used motor and new top and I had a nice cruiser.
  6. Very nice. This is the best looking F250 conversion I have seen here, you got the front axle centered in the wheel opening. Makes a big difference. Weathering looks nice. You might want to get a bungee cord over that battery so it won't end up in the fan?
  7. Looks great. I have one of these in the pile, gonna build it one of these days, or maybe years....
  8. Too cool. I never woulda thought of building one of these. Very unique subject, I remember seeing these searchlights all over back in the 60s and 70s. Superb job all around.
  9. Yep. Bad weekend around Denver. The view out my back door. There is a patio somewhere there. I mounted a yardstick on the picnic table yesterday. Gonna take this a bit to melt.
  10. That looks nice. Maybe you could fill it with lead and make it weigh a scale 500 pounds haha. They were unreal heavy.
  11. I'm with you on the Camaro tail lights. And the wagon wheels/no profile tires on a muscle car don't make it. Guess I'm old school not to mention just plain gettin' old.
  12. Great job there. One of these days I'll get up the nerve to try a resin build.
  13. Great job. Captured that used but not abused look. There is nothing cooler than an old Ford truck.
  14. Looks nice. I never knew there was a 70 Torino pace car.
  15. Great job. Looks factory fresh. The 57 Ford is one of my favorite cars, would love to have a 1:1 of these in the garage.
  16. That came out very nice. Nice paint work along with all the minor details. Good photography also. You need some pics out in the sunlight, that color would really pop.
  17. All are very nice. Good to see that Shelby in something other than black.
  18. Went from this. To this. I finally had enough of rooting through that tool box to find whatever Evergreen strip I needed. Picked up a fir strip and some cup hooks from Home Depot. Couple hours later and I can see what I have here. Should make things much easier.
  19. Now that's something you don't see every day. Great work all around.
  20. Looks like you haven't lost your touch. Nice work on both.
  21. Way cool. Great job on the body work and that slick black paint.
  22. Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I had tons of fun building this. Now to find a case for it, trying to come up with ideas for that.
  23. That came up very nice. I have thought about getting one of these but that is as far as it has got. The look of the Lonestar still has not grown on me, that grille reminds me of a cow puncher on an old steam locomotive. Nice job on opening the doors also. You should get some outdoor pics of it, the red and chrome would really pop.
  24. That is too cool. And to do all that in 2 months is very impressive. Great job all around.
