  1. Thanks, Dominik, Mike, and Rick. Yes the Chevy dealership I worked at for 37 years got torn down and there's a dollar store in its place. Chevrolet took the franchise away back in the depression of 2008.
  2. Thanks, Dan. Me too.
  3. Very nice. Gotta love the fifties.
  4. Here is what's left of the decals I made for this build.
  5. I guess it just depends if they want to go to the trouble of making it into a 50 ford like I did or just use the 49 ford and decal it like the 50 and hope nobody notices.
  6. Thanks , Don. To me a wip is a wip no matter what it is and should be in the workbench forum.
  7. David, I knew if I gave it away too soon the moderator would have moved it to the nascar forum and I wanted others to see the wip too. They still might move it. We will see.
  8. Here is the real car.
  9. Here is the link to more pictures if interested.
  10. Well its finally finished.
  11. Kits: Amt 1949 Ford coupe and Amt 1950 Ford convertible. Paint: Model Master Gloss white, black, Italian red and brass acryl shot through an air brush. Decals: My own ink jet printed on clear sheets. This model depicts the car that won the first Nascar race for Ford in the top division of Nascar which is now known as Monster Energy. The race was in Dayton Ohio and the distance was 100 miles. The model took 51 hours to complete 7 of which were for creating and printing the decals.
  12. Thanks, Dave. I really appreciate the reply.
  13. Thanks, Bruce. I really appreciate the feedback.
  14. Clean and beautiful, Gary.
  15. Excellent job , Colby
  16. Thanks, David. Great information. I'll just have to sit down and see what I have and go from there.
  17. Thanks , Marty. Just a few more things to do.
  18. So that's a Cadillac engine. I was wondering what it was. That would make a cool sleeper model to make it totally box stock but open the hood and see the caddy mill sitting there. I'm feeling some inspiration coming on.
  19. This is what I did on a 2015 Chevy using the donor you are using and a resin body. You could just put the fuel rails higher and closer to the throttle body
  20. Yes, just use that picture as a guide and that would be great. Some trd decals for the valve covers would really make it look good.
  21. The chevy engine will probably work just fine. just add some tubes to each side of the throttle body to represent the efi these engines now have. And paint the engine the gibbs Toyota colors. you can make a throttle body by cutting off the front and rear bowls on the holley carb that comes with the donor kit. just google the modern Toyota engine and make it look like that. Remember these cars don't just have carbs anymore.
  22. What are you going to use for an engine?
  23. Thanks, Tommy. I appreciate the feedback.
  24. David, I was looking at the parts left to do a 49 convertible and some of the engine parts are missing. I might just glue the hood shut or put the modern ohv valve engine in it, that also came in the kit. The 50 kit was purchased at a model car show and the box was very old and not sealed.
  25. I bare metal foiled it yesterday so it shouldn't be too long before its complete. Just need to assemble all the subassemblies, add the grille and bumpers and then decal and future.
