  1. Thanks, Les for the comment. I really appreciate it.
  2. Finally have all the diamond shapes installed. Just need to take a small file to clear up some of the lines between the diamonds and then sand, prime and paint.
  3. Excellent job, Daniel. You really captured the look of the real car.
  4. Beautifully done, Misha. You should be very proud of this one for sure. I'm with Pierre. Mix up some paint and touch it up with a small brush first. touch up with clear on a brush after that. Future or the stuff that took its place would be perfect for that.
  5. Anything would look better than the nose on the amt model left untouched. It really doesn't look Ferrari-ish at all.
  6. It's great that you have the good kits body for up close comparisons to the AMT body which anyone can see is way off in so many ways from the real car. And it is also great that you are showing us what mods are needed to get the AMT body where it can be used to make a decent model of this car. My main concern is the front of the AMT models nose where the opening to the radiator looks horrible on the AMT./
  7. So true, Pierre. I'm passing a lot of time on this seat. I hope you're right about looking good, but it really won't matter with all the stuff blocking the view of it.
  8. Trudging along. Wondering why I decided to get too ridiculous on the seat. Senior moment, I guess.
  9. Jason, way to resurrect a build to completion. Really like the metallic glints in the paint. Also, the saving of the decals and the foil to just like new status is a job very well done. Another excellent build from your bench and I'm sure you gained much satisfaction in finally completing it.
  10. They look pretty good to me, but like you say, once the models finished it's really hard to see much of the door trim through those really small Hudson side glasses. Engine looks great too.
  11. Got the inner part of the seat finished except for some sanding and adjusting here and there and got back on the outer parts of the seat.
  12. Thanks, Steve and Jason. I thought about just covering the seat in putty and then scribing like you said Jason, but I knew it would end up looking terrible, so that's what led to this. Which will probably look terrible too, but maybe a little more uniform than freehand scribing. But I think I might have bit more off than I can chew, so to speak.
  13. Looks like another great project. Are you taking a break from the Merecedes?
  14. It's getting a little dicey now that the seat is intersecting the sides with the bottom. I'm having to do the best I can to make it work. The outsides of the seat should work out just fine because it is one plane of work all the way around. I just have to clip off the excess and sand it smooth. I will add a narrow piece of styrene at the top to separate the inside surfaces of the seat from the outside surfaces, if that makes any sense at all. Like I said, it will be black, and half covered with seat belt and shoulder harnesses so any big gaffs can be hidden. Plus, I'm not taking any close-up shots of the finished seat at all. You can bet on that one.
  15. Wow, even making your own spoked wheels. Amazing.
  16. Slowly but surely, step by step, inch by inch.
  17. Jason, you've got these Hudson's going on. Looks like the beginning of another superb build.
  18. The diamond pattern will continue on the entire seat. I made a bunch of diamonds yesterday but will probably need some more. The seat will be black so it will hardly be noticeable when finished. Probably a good thing. Couldn't just leave it with a flat texture.
  19. Looks very realistic, Pierre. Has just the right sheen for a race car. I'm seeing a homogeneous paint job with no brush marks.
  20. Thanks for stopping by, Donato and making a comment on the build. It is much appreciated.
  21. Looks like I have a lot of diamonds to make. Oh well, what else do I have to do in the afternoons. No fixed completion date on this or any of my models. Thats why I could never do a community build. Too much pressure to meet a deadline.
  22. Pierre, glad to hear you have the correct wheels on the way. This build is really going to be special like all of your other ones.
  23. Andrew, was this build ever finished? If so, please supply me a link. I'd like to see the finished product.
  24. Mr. White Putty is actually tan.
  25. Pierre, looks like you have the stance just right. Are those the wheels you are going with or are you waiting for some others to arrive?
