  1. Thanks Donato. Same to you.
  2. Thanks for the tip on making springs. Now if I can just get my fingers to cooperate.
  3. Thanks for staying at it. You did a wonderful job. I however hate to do extensive decal work. I guess it's my age and the fact that my dexterity is not much there anymore.
  4. Really great modeling going on here. Great masking. Thats one thing I am terrible at.
  5. Got some more work done on the interior. Will have to add a driveshaft tunnel and rework the rear foundation of the interior. I have some pretty good interior shots of the real car but i'm not going to go crazy with the detail.

Totally agree with you Roy about harder than ya think. These are definitley not beginners kits.
  7. Started demo on the interior with a sprue cutter. I have a seat and dash from a Nascar model to use for this model.
  8. Finally polished the gloss varnish with novus 2. you can't really see much of a difference, so I think I will skip this step next time.
  9. Excellent job. Everything looks just right.
  10. Needs a couple of rounds of sanding and more coats of paint. I found my stash of alcladII chrome. I remembered how much trouble my old airbrush was giving me so I bought a new Iwata airbrush with the compressor in a kit for 200 bucks from Hob Lob. I want to make sure I get these right. I decided I needed an early Christmas present to myself.
  11. I'm going to resand these wheels and paint them with gray primer, After that I will paint them gloss black and put some clear on top of that to get them ready for the alcladII. The smoother and glossier the black the better the alcladII chrome will work.
  12. Another amazingly excellent, life like build, Pierre. It's hard to wrap your head around a blue Ferrari but when you read the history, you understand how that happened. Again, the paint is out of this world deep and beautiful and knowing it is brush painted makes it even more amazing. You are the master of this brush painting process and I thank you for all you have taught me about it.
  13. Awesome interior and engine compartment as always. That steering wheel looks so real you would swear it was wood.
  14. Thanks, Dan. I'm a much better brush painter than rattlecan or airbrusher. appreciate the positive comment. Thanks, Mike. No problem. Thanks for the positive comment. I really appreciate it.

Looks awesome from where I'm sitting. Looks like you did everything just right. Cleanliness of build, paint and decals all done just right. A truly great build.
  16. Enjoy your 6 weeks out of country. I have a feeling you might be going to France, but that's just a pure guess on my part. That would definitely be an awesome trip. Enjoy it no matter where you end up.
  17. Pierre, I noticed on your Alfa Romeo you had to use a rattle can for the primer because of the resin stuff. Sometimes us brush guys are forced to go back to the dark side to get stuff done but only if we have to. I haven't had a chance to polish the Vallejo gloss varnish but I'm thinking it's going to work out well. It's the smoothest clear I have used yet with a brush and almost tempted not to polish it at all. Just hit it with future/quickshine after decaling and call it a day on the body. We shall see.
  18. Pierre, that body looks perfect, and the chassis does too. Looks like you are about to wrap this one up. Excellent work going on here.
  19. Needs more sanding and adjusting of the half circle slots, then will prime and paint and try to get smooth enough to get some Revell chrom spray to put on them. If not, I will have to get out the old airbrush and shoot them with AlcladII. I did the wheels on this Chevelle back in the day with AlcladII. I don't think you can brush AlcladII on with much success.
  20. Wow is all I have to say. If you're trying to capture the color in the video, I believe you are right there. Smooth as can be and not a fault that I can discern from the picture above if that is picture 13.
  21. The wheels on this car are 5 slot wheels but they are not what you normally see in slot wheels. the slots are shaped into half circles. I got some ppp 74 slots and will be changing the slots into half circles. Won't be perfect but will be closer than normal slot wheels.
  22. Finally got to watch the video. The sound of that baby going through the gears could only come from a Ferrari. It's like music to my ears. If anybody who has seen this link and not checked it out do yourself a favor but turn down the sound so you don't wake up anybody like I did. And get in big trouble for it.
